One of my watches, a black faced Carrera, is at times hard to read due to reflection on the dial/glass, so today whilst looking a jewellers window I noticed several new Carreras with larger shaped hands in white/lume, Just wondering if, they would fit-would it help- and would it be ok, i.e. not spoil the authenticity of the watch, comments welcome.

It will definetely spoil the authenticity of the watch IMHO.

The reflections will still be there, I don't think the improvement by changing the hands will be marginal.
The watch will not be original and it will surely affect its value.

Which Carrera is it? An older caliber 16?
You also have to take into consideration the proportions; newer cases are wider and larger, hence bigger hands.

It would stop the watch being authentic, but does that really matter to you? Do you car about resale and is it anything special? I'm considering having a watch built because tag don't make what I want, it won't be authentic but it if it works for me, who cares?

Cheers for the advice guys, I might look into it further but it's probably better to keep the watch as is should I decide to offer it for sale and the fact that it is reflection on the glass that really gives the problem.
