I was discussing the 2003 Autavia Re-edition from someone at TAG Heuer during the time the watch was developed, and he mentioned that he thought that the watch was designed by White- a company that I had't heard of before.

From the early LVMH days TAG Heuer employed Ross Lovegrove- a well known product designer. Part of Ross' team was a young man called Christoph Behling...who has designed most TAG Heuers since the mid/ late 2000s.

I say most, because as you can see below, White have done several watches, or at least dials.

Hmm, I always thought modern watches were designed in house; obviously not.

So did I, but on reflection, does it matter? Let's not forget that Pininfarina designed cars for different cars including some pretty cool Ferraris... does it matter that it wasn't designed in-house?

Christoph Behling- a lovely guy- works from his own company in London- http://christophbehlingdesign.com/

Having said that, he is much more than an "outsourced" guy- more part of the family who happens to live in London.

    Interesting.

I've always said they of the brands out there that I could see myself working for, it'd be Maurice Lacroix. Looking through White's portfolio, maybe it's them I should be looking at instead.
