According to the website this one has an alligator strap and a diving extension... something tells me that's not right.

 

It also says the dial is black gold... which again, I doubt.

 

Then again, this is about £650 dearer than your average Calibre 5 Aquaracer....

 

I've confirmed with someone before. Black gold is the term not necessary means gold as in real 24k gold.

Well, if you are at a reception and suddenly get a call for a secret mission that involves some apnea diving you will be very happy to have that diving extension.

 

I'm curious to see this deployment clasp with the diving extension anyhoo...

 

I like the watch.

But probably the strap is the first thing i change, if i bought it.

Even with simple black nato strap it will still be better, for me.

 

Hopefully instagram will provide us with some irl photos of this one so we can see what it actually looks like

 

Lol no, although I do regularly wear my quartz aquaracer surfing, it's slim enough to fit under the cuff of a wetsuit to protect it.

It's mostly that alligator strap looks like it belongs on a dress watch, not a dive watch

 

The fact that you are cool enough to wear your dive watch regularly during surfing is a lot more practical use of it than most of us desk divers I would guess

 

Now then, as we know... in the watch industry, history is EVERYTHING, and it seems TAG Heuer have sold dive watches on leather straps before...

 

That changes everything! As long as there is heritage evrything is ok

 

Leather is one thing, alligator is quite another! I think there's a fair few dive watches on leather, black bay gmt springs to mind.
