"One of the strangest releases of this (or any) year, was the Bamford Coffee Carrera"
"Somewhere in Switzerland, someone said 'Chaps, what we need is another range of Carreras, because we simply don't have enough already'"
"Since a couple of months had gone by without a new Carrera collection, in September TAG Heuer dropped the 'Elegant' Carrera on us"
Very entertaining to read the summary of 2020! Even if I dont agree with everything, but how fun would this place be if we all liked the same things!
^ I agree, it was a very enjoyable "year in review"; well done @Aquagraph !
There are SIX TAG Heuer watches with no scores and not FIVE sir @Aquagraph
I must say TAG Heuer’s 2020 is a milestone not just with the 160 years Celebration but of considerable offerings. Only 2 from the Top6 are from the 160th Anniversary and 4 came from others (Carrera Anthracite H02, JH88, Aquaradar & Monaco Black H02) I’m surprised the Fragment Formula 1 & the Black/Gold Carrera Sports didn’t finished in the Top6! But the competition is very stiff anyway!
2020 also marks my 10 years of being loving & loyal to the brand! 150th Anniversary Year was an astounding year also and has kept me very awed and inspired with TAG Heuer all throughout these years! Cheers!
I hadn't realised the coffee carrera was made from actual coffee. Now it makes even less sense.
Can't believe that we missed the seminal, most revolutionary release of the year, and a giant leap horological leap forward: adding buttons to a cheap Chinese smart watch.
Glad you are all enjoying the post, and thanks to Kappa for pointing out my error! I have added the score for the Monaco in... it was in the top five until the last result came back so that's my excuse.
The Connected was mentioned, but as I don't care for it and I'm sure many of you don't either I thought I'd leave it out altogether.
Great interview sir @Remo & sir @Aquagraph
Thanks for this!
I enjoyed reading this interview! I must say, I also have love for comics when I was young and reading has been one of my hobbies ever since Before i knew of watches & cars, my first passion was about collecting comics which I really like especially Adventures of Asterix & Tintin! I was not able to collect them all and most of them were given away through the years.. Then this year, I decided I’d get the complete set all together, as a gift to my son, to remind him of Dada’s first love
Glad you enjoyed it Kappa, your turn will come!
Saved it till Christmas Day to read, now looking to the weekend for the big reveal, excellent work AG.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
I am glad you like the Interview.
The Comic collection is a very nice gift!
I started collecting Spiderman as a kid. Later I was interested in alternative comics. I was even working for one of the biggest international comic festivals for independent comics / comic art.
This was long before I developed more 'grown up' hobbies like collecting watches .
Yes! I jumped into Marvel Comics after that I remember I was already a huge fan of The Avengers more than 3 decades ago, (1990s) even before they became a household name nowadays.
Glad to have met you here @ Calibre 11 sir @Remo
"I didn't really expect this year to be anything like as 'busy'. And to start with it was deathly quiet, I didn't buy anything in January, February or March and I was beginning to wonder what was wrong with me"
Yes, not buying a new watch for three months is the definition of being wrong in the head
Yeah, okay.... but in context, it was a long time for me!
I haven't bought a watch for maybe 3 years, looked but not been able to undo the purse strings. Sold one. Fighting a Bell & Ross urge on NoS model.
Three years? I've bought 30 watches in the last 3 years....
Anyhoo.... December 2020 QUIZ is up now for your entertainment!
