Thanks Kappa, would have loved to get all the case sizes straight but it was mind boggling! Clearly the ladies are all 28mm, and the full size chronographs are 38mm, but inbetween is a nightmare. The fact that TAG Heuer started with 1,2 and 3 and added a 0 later indicates they probably got in a pickle with it too!

I almost bought a TAG Heuer Professional Golf Watch before ;)

Tiger Woods was sponsored by my favorite brands TAG Heuer & Nike

Trivia: Won the 2006 iF World Design Award for Design Excellence

And yet, I've never seen one... perhaps they were mostly sold in the USA?

The multiple case sizes from the 80's and 90's TAG models confuse the hell out of me. Especially when looking for spare parts.

I know TAG Heuer did men's, boys and ladies in some ranges, and I know the 3000 series came in four sizes (which is totally unnecessary) but the Kiriums are in a league of their own.

At first I thought it was simple, 1 in the number is 38mm, 2 in the number is 36mm, 3 in the number is 28mm...

But no, because a 36mm three hander has a 1 in the number.

And then there's a number 2 three hander (which I presume is 35mm as it uses the same bracelet)

And each range seems to follow it's own rules, so chronometers, quartz chronos, quartz three handers, etc,..

But then later on they made some quartz three handers with a 38mm case and gave them number '0'!

Jeeezus, honestly I went round in circles with this for hours and in the end I gave up because every time I thought I'd nailed it I found something else to through doubt.

And the internet was no help, I think it's because people measure the case including the bulge, but I saw listings for 42mm Kiriums (45mm including the crown) even Watchfinder's measurements were wrong.

Really? It's sooooooooo ugly. I can only imagine it's innovation is that the clasp is built in to the case? So it can't come undone when you swing?

As I’ve learned from this forum, tastes & trends do vary depending from time-to-time ;)

If you are into golf, this TAG Heuer watch was the first of its kind, professionaly made for golfers in mind  weight, comfort and design while on full swing etc.

As for the award, it’s probably “avant-garde” at that time ::rimshot::

I have seen the actual WE1115, but was it an elaborate imitation?

There's only room for one square-faced watch in my heart, and it's not called the 'Golf' ;)

Surely an example of TAG Heeeeuuuuuuuuuuueeerr ::puke::

But at least we know where Apple got its smartwatch design cues from :p

TAG Heuer is the ONLY reason why I didn’t jumped the Apple Watch bandwagon as I have also been a big fan of Apple / Mac even before in the late 90s back in the days prior to being uber popular now.

    Mobile phones / Laptops >> Apple / Mac / iPhone ;)
Watches >> Chronographs, only TAG Heuer :)
