Yes, the lighting in the boutique was awful and I seem to recall that whatever phone I had at the time did not have a very good camera for close range photos like that.

One problem with that, I have a really terrible squeeky voice that I hate listening to.

It's probably not that bad, I mean everyone hates their own voice on tape don't they?

I love the sound of my own voice. Anyone else talking is just time waiting for me to be able to speak again.

Would love to do a podcast! Maybe I should be the host of the Calibre11 Podcast and invite some special selection of guests from the forum.

    Ideas for episodes:

Why silver dials are God's gift to humanity. w special guest Reverent Dominator
What shade of colour is the perfect lume sexiness?
Is the panda dial really the perfect Carrera? w. special guest C man
Bling factor, top gold and two-tone watches from TAG Heuer w. special guest Aqua G

Missed the Rolex article before. I would say that watches can be an investment if you know what to buy, but like any investment, returns are not guaranteed and most watches you buy new will depreciate in the short to medium term. There are also some rules to follow, such as don't buy new (unless you are somehow offered a steel Rolex). In most cases, you'd be a lot better off investing in equity funds.

I've said before, I don't treat my watches as an investment (to make money), but it is a way of enjoying my savings more than if it was sat in the bank, and I certainly wouldn't have so many if I didn't have a fair amount of confidence that they will maintain a significant proportion of the initial outlay.

I think that basically comes back to your point - buy them because you love them, not as a pure financial investment.

Absolutely. I can see no fun in owning watches as investments... and I was thinking about this earlier actually, I'm sure there were probably enough green Monacos for everyone that genuinely wanted them, if it wasn't for ar*eholes buying them to flip! And it's not just watches, I hear the same thing goes on with Lego, trainers, even Pokeman cards!

Today I got to try on the NightDiver, the Red Bull F1, the new Carrera GMT and an Oris TT1. I also got to see a BB58 next to a regular BB and I can see why you guys prefer it. Overall it appears less bulky and the bracelet in particular seems a lot more delicate in execution. I also think the gold text on the bezel makes a massive difference to the overall aesthetic and I think on reflection, while the added bulk of the regular BB doesn't bother me, I think I would also choose the BB58 because I think the gold on the bezel is more appealing. Without it, it looks a bit dull...
