    Such a crowd pleaser.

I've written an article you're going to hate, and you can't read it until next month ;)

Don't go expecting a hatchet job, cos if you do you'll be disappointed.

But not as disappointed as I was.

    ^This is not the BB58.

@Aquagraph I believe you tried on the normal Black Bay, not the Black Bay 58. They look similar but are quite different in size. All of the pictures in your blog post are of the standard Black Bay, which has silver numbers and markings on the bezel. The BB58's bezel is black & gilt (gold) which matches the dial.

It's the size of the BB58 that transforms the watch and makes it popular for many. The BB58's diameter is 39mm, not the 41mm of the standard Black Bay. Furthermore, it has a rather slim height of 11.9mm. In contrast, the standard Black Bay is rather chunky with a height of almost 15mm. Very few would call the BB58 slab sided, whereas many have used the term for the standard Black Bay.

FYI, all of the Black Bay editions you mentioned above are not BB58s.

Yeah, either you got the diameter wrong (you quote 41mm) or you tried on the wrong watch :D

The whole article reads like Rob tried on the standard Black Bay, not the 58.

Even the product number Rob shows in his blog (M79230N-0009) under the top picture designates the normal Black Bay, not the Black Bay 58 (M79030N-0001). ::facepalm2::

I’m surprised you didn’t comment on the finishing, when I tried on the regular BB it seemed way better finished than an Aquaracer.

I don't think any of the pictures are of the BB58 are they?

    From the article:
I used to feel like this about the Explorer too Rob. But I came round. If you watch The Urban Gentry's videos, TGV also said exactly the same thing. He used to think it was boring. Now it's his favourite (or second favourite at time of writing) watch.

It is, though the new Aquaracer closes that gap significantly compared to the previous model.
