It's easier to get the wax off that way.

You shave and then wax? In which case, step 2 must be purely for pleasure? ::confused2::

"it's not even like Timothy Dalton is a 'proper' Bond!!!"
Not when it comes to watches. Not only did Timothy wear the Heuer (or TAG Heuer) 1000 Night Diver, he was also the last James Bond to wear the Rolex Submariner. Which in my book, and also Ian Fleming's, makes him a 'proper' Bond.

I do feel sorry for Dalton, it's not his fault he was Bond at the wrong time.... but is he anyone's 'favourite', really?

The Living Daylights was a great film and I think Dalton did a good job. License to Kill was a shocking film and Dalton did his best with a poor script and poor direction.

    Agreed
Agree on this too. I felt Timothy was a good Bond but at the wrong time. He played the role similar to how Daniel Craig does, which most seem to like now. Had Dalton made a few more movies, he might be remembered differently. But legal disputes to the Bond movies in the late 80s early 90s prevented this.

I’m intrigued who you guys would rate as a great James Bond actor other than the original/first 007 Sir Sean Connery?

I thought Timothy Dalton was also great. I can let the corny script / story pass during his time but as James Bond, I thought he did well ::confused2::

So is it Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan, Roger Moore etc?

Timothy Dalton is a great actor, but was not right for Bond. I reckon he'd admit that himself. Meanwhile Brosnan isn't even an actor, he's a plank of wood.

Margeret Rutherford as the equally fictional Miss Marple. Also rocking a mean Ice King there...

That's a tough question. There's only one original and I can't say that I have a second favorite. I hated Craig at first, he just didn't fit my image of "Bond". He looks more like a thug rather than a handsome suave spy. But he made the role his own, with Skyfall & Casino Royale being his two best movies so far. I prefer the more serious take on Bond that both Dalton & Craig brought to the role over the campy style of Moore & Brosnan. Lazenby is my least favorite Bond.

I have never understood the hate for George Lazenby. OHMSS was a good film and Lazenby only had the one film to be Bond. I still enjoy the Brosnan-era films (except for Die Another Day - all copies of that film should be burned and the ashes sent to hell) but OHMSS is probably better than all of them bar Goldeneye.

OHMSS was a good movie, but it was originally planned for Connery. I don't hate Lazenby, but OHMSS would've been so much better if Connery was in it. The Blofeld trilogy just isn't right with a different actor in the middle.
