Mr Nergård. You just have to keep showing off that beautiful and insanely good looking Montreal dont you? Makes me feel my Ice King could use a cousin named Montreal!

Have a good one, glad to see a neighbor from Norway in the forum! Greetings from Sweden

Thank you for the nice comment, @Jim Dollares. The Montreal is getting a lot of wrist time these days. Love your "Ice King" as well!

Um, I'm guessing since there's a great rivalry between these neighboring countries, a little timepiece agreement is a good sign

I knew someone would say they were springs..... but they are actually for repairing damaged threads. :D

Pardon? Yes.... helicoils, or recoils in this instance as Helicoil is a brand name.

Aha, we were obviously supplied that type then as we all knew then as Helicoils, or Hells coils if trying to use them in an awkward job underground, I much preferred reboring the hole a larger size then retapping to accept a bigger bolt where possible.

A much better idea, but not always possible. Also people use them in the first instance to produce a 'replaceable' thread.

I worked with guys who’s idea of a bolts torque setting was saying “Tighter ya Bast*rd” as pulling* on the spanner as hard as possible.

    * Often with a bit of pipe over the end to act as a torque multiplier ::censored::Ah happy days of precise engineering.::facepalm1::
