I'm currently sporting my Tag Heuer 844/5 on a cheap metal bracelet that I found on Amazon. For reference: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Polish-Shinning-Silver-Stainless-Release/dp/B076LYWFBH Obviously this is sacrilege and I throw myself on your mercy. However, this is the style of strap that I prefer, I don't like NATO, leather, or rubber straps, (I don't like the way they trap and retain water if they get wet), and I'm not a huge fan of the original "jubilee" type strap, or the "shark-mesh" metal straps. My current cheap chinese strap isn't very good (the second, "locking" clip keeps falling open, and it "feels" cheap). I also don't particularly like the unlocking mechanism where two "buttons" protrude from the sides of the clasp, (but I can live with that if needed) So, given that we're currently in lockdown, and visiting a jewellers is hardly "essential travel" (if any were even open), can anyone recommend either an actual strap, or a good online source for a strap (UK preferred), that would be an "oyster" type and suit the 1000 series nicely. Unfortunately I mislaid the original jubilee strap (with the pin covers) many years ago, (I've had this watch from new).
You could try a Strapcode oyster bracelet with straight end links. They do several styles of clasp including a Submariner style one. Or you could choose from one of their many different styles. https://www.strapcode.com/collections/super-o-boyer
Obviously I would try to find the original bracelet ... this was discussed also in this other thread. Maybe it could be useful for you: https://forums.calibre11.com/threads/bracelet-for-844-5.54944/ I easily found the original bracelet for my 6000 Senna in my usual AD, at a very reasonable price. So you could ask your AD, and maybe you have better price than expected
I was actually referring to the 2 top photos. The left photo has a crown with medium fine ridges and a shouldered profile. The right photo is fine ridges and a domed crown! I know they're different models, but it's obvious that Tag at the time weren't being very consistent!
I assume left model is lady’s version, with quite different size from right model (gen’s size), so it could be expected some differences in their designs
I've found a 2000 series bracelet on eBay which although not correct for the watch is at least a TH strap and 20mm. I'm tempted even though it's £115.
