As long as it doesn't go boom when its done ticking like the 2015 Renault or Honda I'd say it'd be more than welcome lol

I agree! Even a little progress is progress. So leg the
    engines tick in 2016.
Good luck in the past and hopefully a good sign for next
year: None of my watches went boom. However they were
not manufactured by Renault or Honda....

There are certainly some very strong pointers that it will be either Red Bull-TAG or Red Bull-TAG Heuer for next year. The first sounds better...and I think that to most people, the first "TAG" that they think of is TAG Heuer rather than confusing it with Techniques d'Avant Garde.

Incidentally when they say "Swiss Engineering To Close The Gap" they're not just talking about TAG Heuer branding in the marketing sense, Mario Illien has been on Red Bull's payroll for a while now trying to work with Renault to improve their engine and is in fact a Swiss national himself.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Illien

Illien (former co-founder of Ilmore - now Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains) presented his design to Renault which they then ignored in favour of their own updated version which as Red Bull demonstrated in Interlagos was worse than the existing engine.

So its rather appropriate really that if it does become RedBull-TAG, it will in fact be a true Swiss engine design even if it shares some initial elements with the Renault.

So it's going beyond 2016 too? Christian had mentioned this was an interim 2016 arrangement for now but at the same time they would be mad to go back to being a customer after the mess they've had dealing with the works teams this year, I wonder if the interim part is just in terms of it being Renault based this year and completely separate after that?

Ron Dennis was absolutely right about one thing, you're not going to win world championships as a customer in this engine formula, especially as a Renault customer.

Here's where it gets interesting- TAG Heuer's deal is "multi-year" but the Renault deal with Red Bull is only for one year

    Hello David,
    thanks for Your kind answer.
I hope that media will accept TAGHeuer aus the engine manufacturer. I remember that at the times of McLaren-TAG the engine, at least in Germany, was called "Porsche". Hope they have better luck this time, although everybody knows, so far it is made by Renault.
    Let's see how things work!

The whole VW group putting in a car has been around for years.. will believe when I see them say it. And is it going to be a vw motor? I don't know if they have a enough time for that. You see what happened with Honda in there first year.
