Yeah, I love buying the straps! I just wish Tag would actually make more available. Instead they've been limiting them to special edition watches. I really want that black leather strap with the red stitching that's on the Man U watches.

Can anyone please give me a clue why my watch receives texts and other notifications but not my phone calls? I've just upgraded from the S7 to the S9+ if that helps.

But when I check from within your link the dimmed status, it looks greatly reduced. Is there a way to adjust this to show more detail in dimmed mode? Otherwise I think the stock Tag Heuer ones look better.

Collected my watch two days ago. Very disappointed. Also purchased two straps, red and green to go with the blue on the watch. On a positive note the boxing is magnificent on those straps, I would dare to write the boxes cost more than the rubber straps do to manufacture? The boxing on the straps is OTT!
Wear OS is exactly why I switched to Tizen some years ago. We are told Wear 2 OS has many more apps than Tizen. Though this may be the case I am at a total loss to find this plethora of apps for our Connected 45?
A lot of my present critique may be due to owners initial ignorance, I don't know, I just find the OS on this watch totally boring in comparison with my Samsung gear 3. Before I get flamed I am not comparing the watches. Though my Gear 3 is very well made from good quality materials its not in the same league as the Connected 45.
Ownership of the Tag Heure is rather exclusive and that alone makes it stand out from any other smart watch.
There are obvious problems with owning a smart watch. Technology moves at such a staggering pace our TAG is already well out of date, no heart rate sensor, compass nor rotating bezel or crown, no speaker. From the off we are at a grave disadvantage to other smart watches because of this limitation.
Wear OS was specifically designed to work with rotating bezels or other such mechanical actions.

I was determined to purchase this watch and just new I would feel buyers remorse. Serves me write. I feel my Samsung Gear 3 with its Samsung health app knocks the spots of the Tag Heure, plus at 400...€ I can replace the watch with every new iteration, this will not be the case with the TAG. At present I am wearing both watches, one on each wrist. Bloomin absurd! lol

I am very afraid the positives to ownership of this particular smart watch are vastly outweighed by its negatives. Only have myself to blame though. Did my home work so new what I was buying!

You don't need rotating bezel on a WearOS watch; you have gestures instead which neither Apple Watch nor Samsung Gear offer. You can navigate flicking your wrist, which is massively more intuitive than rotating bezel or crown. The reason is because this is a watch and you shouldn't be occupying your other hand to operate it. True, you cannot navigate the entire interface with the simple gestures offered, but for going through your notifications (which is what we do 90% of the time with our smartwatches) gestures are better than rotating elements.
I'm not saying that having a rotating bezel or crown wouldn't be cool, but the gestures are a good alternative and very often superior.

Hi. Yes the gestures are cool. I would think, I don't know, if you owned a Gear 3 with the app you may be surprised? Its early days for TAG and lets hope they update the OS as often as they can. I don't think the gestures are going to make up for the lack of other hard ware omissions though....we can't even use a compass, no sensor?

Years ago cars like Bentley, RR and Aston Martin where years behind rivals in the technology dpt. Not today, the new cars are filled with technology as well as being hand built. I doubt our watch can survive on just the fact its hand made and rather exclusive? Being a smart watch it has to be 'smarter'. I do find, to date, the TAG rather dumb lol. Beautifully engineered and crafted. Its just not enough though.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to continue to work with the TAG I truly hope there are some surprises around the corner that I have yet to discover!

Well... I also have a Huawei Watch 2 LTE which is packed with technology and I use it when I do sports. I wouldn't take my TAG Heuer for cycling anyway. But as an everyday watch I wear my TAG because I don't need anyway all these features that my Huawei offers on top.
Let's say that my TAG is first and foremost a quality watch, which on top keeps me connected, and my Huawei is a sports smartband with additional watch functions.

Lol. We are all tag fans, that’s why we purchase the C45. If it’s a smart watch you require then there is only one and it’s worn by the masses, who have never worn a watch in there lives but now suggest they can’t live without it lol. I traded my iwatch for the tag and don’t regret it, for me all I want is notifications and that all works fine so I’m happy.

Sorry mate, but yesterday out of curiosity I started counting the Apple Watches around me. I counted around 15 in a day and I wasn't even paying much attention. This is terrible. Never before has it happened that people are so enthusiastic about looking uniform. I think they actually feel that they belong to an elite that chooses only the best, but to me it's clear that they don't realise that if it weren't for the Apple badge, they would never accept such sweeping, overwhelming uniformity.
And don't get me started about basic things that the Apple Watch lacks, like showing the time at all times, downloadable watch faces, keyboard, showing attachments in messages etc...

Very nicely put. I like your attitude.

I understand when you write "My TAG is first and foremost a quality watch". This would make a very interesting debate. Is a smartwatch a watch? Many traditional horologists would say no! I am unsure. I think we would first need to define what a watch is then its maybe possible to debate your point? The TAG does tell the time and very accurately too. Its certainly superb wrist wear. Perhaps a smart watch is neither one thing nor the other or perhaps both?

I need to monitor my steps as I am diabetic and need to keep fit by walking three times a day with the family Labrador. To that end I can no longer swop around my watches as I used too. I have a medium collection now and they are not used.
I bought the TAG in the hope it would replace my Gear 3 hence my disappointment. NOT the fault of TAG its my own.

Nice to debate with you. Ryland

Hands up. I own an iPhone 8+ also a Samsung galaxy Note 8. I only use the Apple as an MP3 connected to an external portable amp-DAC and headphones. I cant live with the Apple OS, tried every single Apple product and the OS is just not my cup of tea. In Southern Europe for some odd reason Apple are seen as the RR of technology and owning an Apple product is a sign of wealth? Give me my Note 8 any and every day.
I also detest the sales policy of Apple in this country, they get away with breaking laws on a daily basis here. Apple is not for me.

Must say a square smart watch is smarter than the round face ones. My first Asus Zen watch, Samsung watch also first Sony smart watch where square and for good reason.

Well... A non-smart watch is no longer a functional object, because no one needs a watch to tell the time and anyway mechanical watches are the most inaccurate time tellers from all watches. So I think a watch is more of jewellery and expression of style. In this regard the TAG Heuer for me is clearly a watch because I wear it for my own aesthetic needs. The smarts are a useful added extra.
I don't know if for diabetes you'd need a heart rate sensor, which the TAG Heuer Connected doesn't offer, but it definitely counts steps and calories.

    Hi. Again an insightful reply.

Can you help me discover the step count app on the watch and does this also show on the TAG phone app? I don't need a heart rate sensor. I will be the first to know if my tika goes wonky lol. Many thanks. Steps and sleep are real important apps for me. Cant find the sleep app either? Work in progress, me not the TAG......

"Fit" is the app you're after, a default app on your watch. Albeit fairly inaccurate I'd say! And yes that will sync with your Google login.

OK this is now driving me nuts. I can't figure out the problem and no-one wants to speak to me :(.
I'm receiving all notifications on my watch but not my phone calls. I've upgraded my phone to the Samsung S9+. I'm thinking it must be something simple like my settings being wrong that is stopping my calls coming to the watch.

PLEASE... someone help me or point me to someone who can.

Ha no prob! I would try a few standard things like a factory reset on the watch, unpair then re-pair, uninstall Wear app on the phone and reinstall.
