If you are not in a rush, I would wait till later in the year. Google is expected to release their new Wear version and they have announced several manufacturers will have new watch offerings to match. I would be surprised if TAG Heuer wasn't one of them.

If you don't want to wait, then I would suggest getting the ceramic bezel with Titanium lugs. Or find one second hand.

Actually I'm not sure. The problem is that most Wear OS partners are waiting for Qualcomm to release the new smartwatch processor (allegedly the Snapdragon 3100), but TAG Heuer is in collaboration with Intel, who do not seem to have any plans to release any new smart wear processor. That means that TAG Heuer have to either break their contract with Intel and move to Qualcomm, or they have no specific reason to release a new smartwatch together with the rest of the bunch. A new Wear OS version from Google is not a very big motivation for TAG Heuer to release a new model, because most likely, if indeed there is a new Wear OS version coming up, TAG Heuer will most likely update the Connected 45 to this new version. Also if the new version is the one based on the forthcoming Android 9.0, then the preview is already out and it doesn't offer anything groundbreaking.

Hi, Thanks for the reply. The problem with regard to titanium is not, unfortunately, unique to TAG. About 15 years ago I purchased the Oris Mark Webber sport chrono limited edition. That is made from Titanium and because of that the watch sits in one of my watch cases collecting dust! The Oris is a magnificent looking watch and cost me 3k 15 years ago. Point is if I look at it it marks! I hardly ever wear it because of that and swore I would never purchase another titanium watch. I dislike the colour also its inherent softness as an untreated material.
One of the most beautiful watches I ever saw was an Omega. I was going to buy it. As soon as I learned it was made from titanium That was that. Most disappointed.
The two examples I intended to purchase at the outlet where both marked?! The store called me today and said they had contacted the importer and I will receive one next week.
For some reason out of the 30 odd registered outlets here who sell the TAG 45 they are like trying to find rocking horse poop! Hardly any stores have any stock? I am unsure if this situation is because they sell well or the outlets cant sell them so they don't keep stock?
From reading your posts I gather you are unhappy with your purchase. Nothing worse than buyers remorse. I hope to avoid that? I have my doubts on this purchase though.

    Does the TAG monitor sleep?

Hi, I frequently purchase the latest flagship smart phone. I own the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 also the Apple iPhone 8 that I keep and use as an MP 3 connected to an Oppo HA 2 SE portable DAC-amp and sennheiser head phones. The 'problem' with all these uber mobiles is........battery life yet considering their functionality, size and micro electronics I am amazed they last as long as they do.
Battery life is the one area holding back the progress of such devices. Their appears so little new battery innovation when compared with other technological advances?
I charge my smart watch ever night regardless same as I do my mobile. To that end a full days use is okay by me. Many others, however, are far less happy.

Yes, I am well aware of the upcoming Qualcomm processor. I don't have any inside information about TAG Heuer's future Connected plans, but for the sake of standardization, I really hope that they move to Qualcomm. LVMH already has a partnership with them for the Louis Vuitton Tambour Horizon, so extending it to TAG Heuer wouldn't be terribly unexpected.

Lol that’s bad, we really shouldn’t have to remove the watch for desk work. However I’m not to concerned I think the clasp actually visually improves as the ware marks increase and become more even

Waiting for the phone call to let e know mine has arrived at the outlet. Should be this week. Fingers crossed.

Out of interest have you guys and gals seen the price of the modules? Some, if not all, all rather absurd. The gold plated horns are the same price as a complete replacement automatic chronograph module! 2,700$....

They may look totally absurd upon first inspection but actually they are very carefully calculated; I made a few configurations based on the prices of the separate modules and the prices of the smartwatch module (which is not really available as a stand alone module, but you can deduct it's price, if you check the trade-in programme of the Connected 46) and they always sum up to watches that are slightly cheaper or slightly more expensive than the equivalent non-modular models. E.g. if you build your own modular Calibre 16 chronograph you'll pay $3885, whereas the cheapest non-modular Carrera Calibre 16 starts on TAG Heuer website from $4200. Actually considering that the modular DIY watch has a design nearly identical to a Carrera Heuer 01, it is great value!

Hi. I don't call 2,700€ for gold plated horns "Great value". Even IF money is no object that is still absurd pricing. I have no idea how they justify that one?

I think I explained; because when you build your own modular watch, it has to have a price similar to the equivalent non-modular watch. If these lugs were much cheaper, then you'd end up with a watch so much cheaper than the non-modular watches with similar calibres, that it would create a pricing problem for TAG Heuer.

    HELP!

I have just upgraded my phone from the Galaxy S7 to the Galaxy S9+. Since doing this, for some reason my watch is not notifying me when I receive a phone call. I get notifications from texts and other messages so I know my watch is connected to my phone. Everything worked fine before the upgrade. I've done a reset on the watch but still no joy. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

Nice Heuer-02T tourbillon face! Does it rotate? Where did you find it?
