So I tried the BB58 on today. And it turns out Charlie was right. You really can't see the rivets on the bracelet, they literally look like screws.

I tried some other watches on too: Bell and Ross, Breitling, Maurice Lacroix and a couple of TAG Heuers too. Now 6 posts to write!

Look forward to those. Was it the pistachio Breitling chrono? :)
You can't see them at all if you put it on a nice NATO ::stirthepot::

Well there you are - that settles this argument once and for all then. The pistachio is fab.

On the other hand, that Bulldog ::puke::Mind you, Rob will probably come on and tell us that he likes it ::facepalm2::

Naaah, Rob is a changed man. He told me yesterday that everything Charlie has ever said has turned out to be true

I said, he was right about the rivets, that's all.

That Bulldog thing is atrociously ugly.

Actually the pistachio thing looks better in that video than I've seen previously, so maybe I would revise my score up from 2 to 2.5.... out of ten.

MB&F Gallery in Geneva is worth a visit, I almost comically backed into and knocked over a lamp in there.

Well I went out and got this photo just for you!

It's actually really nice in person. Very nice detailing on the dial, and the size / wrist experience is similar to the 39mm Carrera. (I tried on the salmon dial Datora too but that one's a straight chonk)

The pistachio looks good on the video, but not so much in a still photograph.

I'm not the best photographer nor did the (temporary) Breitling store have the best lighting, but it was very pleasant in person. It's a different look for sure that maybe not everyone will be into - and for $8,400 the Premier line is not my thing either - but on an aesthetic level it just works in a way that so many other models just don't

I have never tried these on but the price does seem a bit high. Does it handle and feel like a 8k watch?

Breitling prices have, as for most brands, skyrocketed during the last years. I guess it must be working and people willing to pay whatever it costs.

I don't know about US$ prices, but in the UK it's a fairly similar price point to the Heuer 02 glassbox Carreras I think? Mind you, they are overpriced too :)

Yes I agree, the glassbox Carreras are overpriced too. But like I said, people (including us) are willing to pay whatever they ask it seems. What I dont know though is how the Premier compares to the glassbox Carrera in terms of "premium and luxury feeling". Will be based on each personal opinion of course but Adam often seems to know what he is talking about so therefore my question.

I would say no honestly. It's nice, and I thought it was a $5500-6500 watch (which in the US, is where the glassbox Carrera falls) but when I looked up the price online later I was surprised. $8,400 is El Primero money, and that watch feels head and shoulders nicer than the Premier.

I'd say the Datora feels more like a $9k watch - except that one's $13k

These prices of course are before what I assume are heavy AD discounts though :coffee:

My office being right in the middle of midtown Manhattan (and literally 5 min from most of the watch boutiques) helps!

That must be awesome. I have to drive 2,5h to get to the closest AD
