No I was just being anti-elitist.
Not sure I understand. It's a great watch and incredible value for what you get, and I recommend anyone who isn't convinced of that to go and try one for themselves. I'll happily share my opinion on the forums about how great this watch is. But I don't think I'm better than anyone else because I own one. I totally get the rivet thing, but this is down to personal taste at the end of the day, so I fully accept it's not going to be for everyone.
Congrats and enjoy @dtf!
I daily wear mine, its gotten the most wrist time in 2021 so far. My Carrera Dato is a close 2nd though...
Me too. The original Carrera x Shelby watches are on my dream watch list.
I got excited when I first saw both the Cobra & Mustang editions of the new Breitling Top Time, but my excitement faded quickly as there's no real historical linkage between the brands. I'd rather see Breitling do a re-edition of the 007 Top Time that Connery wore in Thunderball (minus the crazy huge Geiger Counter case).
Yes, that would be a good one, but I doubt it will ever happen while Omega has the lock on the franchise.
They could simply re-release it as an evil panda Top Time ref 2002 re-edition, without any 007 marketing. And if you know, you know.
Breitling's re-editions have been extremely faithful to the originals, it's hard to tell the difference in pictures.
Killer watch and amazing photo!! Is the leather with a deployant clasp? They didn't have leather version in stock at the ad I visited
Stopwatches for Days....
Yeh it's got a deployment clasp. Unfortunately no micro-adjust on the deployment, but otherwise it's great and nicely thought out. Looks like the ceramic is retained with a pair of ceramic ball bearings.
Did you try the fabric strap? I'm toying with getting one as another option for mine.
Yes the fabric strap was the only one they had for the black so I tried it. The size of the strap was the smallest version though so I couldn't close it. Looked insanely nice though and felt very premium.
Does the fabric strap have a deployment?
No it's a pin buckle. But I really like the look with the fabric strap. I bought mine with the bracelet, but enjoy rotating between the leather & fabric OEM straps as well.
I saw Charlie told me to watch that video, haven't seen it yet
There is a comment underneath by someone called Charlie.... Usual fanboy nonsense.
I figured we might as well have a Tudor Black Bay thread since everyone here but me has got one.
I don't have one either Rob......YET.
I'll get the thread going with some pics from my Instagram
