925 silver is what jewellery is made of isn't it? So what stops it getting that tarnished look?

Probably some drawbacks, it’s also softer than stainless steel. Never had issues with my silver bracelets though. Polish with silver cloth every now and then. Starting to think this is my favourite BB58. Won’t have to worry about that sorry riveted bracelet either.

As I understand it, it's a 925 silver alloy, i.e. it's mixed with other metals to give it better hardness and preserve a shiny appearance longer. You can change the properties of a metal with an alloy for sure.

Just had an email from my Tudor AD telling me about the new models so have shot back a reply asking what the wait would be like. Still on the fence...

Of all the "other watches/other brands" new releases today, the new Tudor Chrono also interests me the most.

I’d almost prefer that it wasn’t a silver alloy. In the white metal category, I feel like an option for a metal that would take on patina could be fun. These new-fangled alloys throw me off a bit.

I knew you would love this one also.
It's what you've been hoping for in a Carrera.
Fingers crossed you get your wish soon.

I'm seriously considering ordering one of these.

Reverse or Panda? What's your thoughts?

I always get my pandas the wrong way round but the white dial with black subdials just has the edge for me.

Tough question, I'm currently still mulling over which I like better. First reaction was the white markers and hands provide more contrast on the black dial (reverse panda), but get lost on white dial. This makes the reverse panda pop a bit more and helps readability. OTOH, the panda may have a cleaner overall look and I like that the black bezel & sub-dials contrast against the white dial together. I probably need to see them both in the metal to decide. Also want to know the thickness of the case, I find that the standard 41mm Black Bays are a little too thick and slab sided for me.

Of course. You know Hodonkey sold out a long time ago. Why do you still bother with them?

Thanks. That seems encouraging, 14.4mm is thinner than the standard BB's 14.75mm thickness.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, you crack me up. Do you really think that you are going to notice a 0.35mm difference?

If it's just the 0.35 difference, no. But it's actually down almost a full mm from the 15.3mm thickness of the previous BB Chrono, which was even thicker than the standard BB. Also, the standard BB has a kind of slab like shape to the side of its case, but this new chrono's case geometry is supposedly fully reworked. So I'm hoping the overall effect will be a slimmer feeling watch.

Agree. But I've got too many black dials... ...and still waiting for that Carrera panda (or reverse panda)...
...must resist the temptation, must resist... :whistling:
