    Drool!
    [/QUOTE]
I think this is a great release. The size #’s are spot on from what I’ve read. 41mm, 46mm lug to lug and 13.6mm thick.

There have been so many cool releases as of late from vintage inspired to modern from all the major and niche companies. I like the Speedy update, this Zenith and whatever Tag releases in the 39mm case this year. I certainly have some saving to do. If you like chronographs it a great time to be in the market.
Many will compare this to the Daytona but a big difference is I went to their site tonight and was able to put it in my cart and head over to checkout. No AD shenanigans, lists or prior purchases.

Too Daytona-ish. It's OK, but it's trying too hard. I much prefer Zenith's 38mm offerings.

The bezel definitely looks like a Carrera Chronograph Sports 44mm H02, and a classic Zenith El Primero dial inside. A mash of both. It clearly has taken design cues from TAG Heuer.

I like Zenith because of the history and the movement. So I went with a Carrera Calibre 36 Racing Flyback

    3 x 38mm models - all very tempting... (not my photos obviously) 17510528-zjmq9j2mnrklf8q6qkwfqsiz-ExtraLarge.jpg Hero.jpg zenith-03-2150-4069-51-c805_image-01_1.jpg

The first two dials look like they were put through the 'Honey I Shrank the Kids' machine and not in a good way. Something just isn't right about the design of those El Primeros. No golden ratio stuff going on there.

The Daytona is no match for this Zenith imo. Fantastic piece, a bit big but I love the 10s swoop of the center chronograph hand. It also beats at 36.000, like the original El Primero, which allows for accurate 1/10s timing and reading whereas the Daytona only beats at 28.800 and allows for 1/8th accuracy. The Daytona chronograph markers make no sense btw. The chronograph beats 8 times in a second but the seconds are divided in 5 markers ::screwloose::
The H02 also beats at 28.800 frequency but the seconds are divided in 4 as they should be in that case. At least on my Autavia.

I got interested in the issue when I noticed the new Speedmaster has only 3 iso the previous 4 second divisions. Basically the same issue. The 3861caliber and the ones before beat at only 21.600 so it can only time 1/6 of a second. Iso upgrading the new 3861 to 28.800 Omega opted to just change the iconic dial and admit the previous dials never made sense. I suppose accurate timing isn't an issue in space. But not too many people seem to care, certainly not the hardcore Speedie crowd. I haven't read anything sensible about this issue anywhere. About the applied logo and DON bezel on the other hand...

Well, I went ahead and ordered the BB58's OEM leather strap. It is thick! I wore it for 2 days one notch tighter to make it conform better to my wrist and now it feels just fine. But Tudor's style of having the shorter end of the strap on the bottom is something I'm still getting used to. Overall, I really like the OEM strap!

I've been playing with all kinds of straps and find that I like this watch almost equally on Steel, Leather and NATO/Fabric. But if I could only have one, it would have to be the steel bracelet.

I also ordered the brown OEM strap and clasp for my BB58 OG, but just could not get used to the strap and clasp being on the wrong side. Plus I found the strap a bit thick. Sold it again pretty quickly.

It's comfortable for me, I'm happy with it. While I can fit a normal size strap fine, I ordered the shorter size; because I didn't want the tail end sticking out so much - especially since it faces inward. But I also think this helped with the comfort, as the clasp is well centered on the bottom of my wrist.

Stupid question... can't you swap the strap round?

Sure, but then the "Tudor" on the clasp would be upside down!

Then again, the Heuer clasps are that way, so go figure?

It has never ever crossed my mind that a clasp text is 'upside down'

That’s a nice watch! Would love to see it in action if you ever get a chance to share a video. 5 hertz must be a beauty to behold. I love the 10 sec swoop on the new Zenith. Looks very impressive on youtube at least. This Zenith makes the Daytona look pretty average I reckon.

Changing topics, anyone planning to get the new 3861 Speedy Moonwatch?
(I'm sure this is being discussed ad nauseam on our sister Omega Forum, but I don't visit there.)
