Sure. I view it as another box "checked" in the faithful observance and adherence to the original when doing the re-edition.

Agree with the Speedy Tuesday - that would be my pick if money no object.

I really don't see the attraction to the Speedmaster. It just makes me yawn. The endless editions, special, limited or otherwise, are beyond tedious too.

Okay, leaves the obscene price as a big no no to spend my money on it.

Maybe because of already having the Calibre 360 I'm not feeling it for any of the Carrera's 160th anniversary and the fragment h02. The El Primero is IMHO nicer that the new Carrera Montreal. My only speedy is the A11 50ss and happy to have it in my collection.

I think the main question is why do a 100% faithful copy of the original? Just get the original watch in that case. These re-editions are a bit like zombies coming back from pet sematary. You really want it to be the original but it doesn't take long for you to realize something's terribly wrong.
The 321 was Omega's latest trick to please the LE hungry and super gullible Speedy crowd. I think it's pretty absured to drool over a movement that's supposed to be the pinnacle of engineering of Omega but which wasn't even developed in house. It doesn't even hack by the way. It's basically an overpriced souvenir.

i would expect white gold or platinum if anything. They’ve done the moonstone. Though I’d quite like one of those. I had one on order but had other uses for the money at the time so had to pass.

it is curious. It certainly is not special enough to warrant the x6 rrp it commands now. It does look amazing in lime shots and has a bit of fun about it. But it is one of those ‘hype’ watches that attracts many and is rare. Much like the SS Rolex sports watches I suppose. The ‘investment’ angle also attracts certain types. I saw one at a specialist used watch shop in Amsterdam about 2 years ago. I almost pulled the trigger - but could not justify the 2x RRP it was going for back then.

i doubt the next one will achieve the same ‘growth’. But like the Carrera I like the Speedy design. So fancy one if the design interests me. Omega do far too many LEs tbh. But they are a business and have to have some gimmick to shift SKUs I suppose. I’d rather they updated the “of the moon” range as that is my favourite atm. I’s be all over a red one!

Yeah it's all speculation, only Omega knows so we'll just have to wait till start of October.

Just a like for your joke, not really digging that dial myself but hopefully they will surprise us, otherwise I'm out for my second speedy.

The GSOTM and the blue aventurine are my favorites but 44,25 mm is just too big for my wrist.

Most of that collection is stunning. Already have the non glittery BSOTM, GSOTM and WSOTM. They are a little on the larger side. But I don’t mind that. Very similar to the Carrera Cal 17 in terms of ‘wrist presence’ Though they are marginally larger, the contrasting finish hides the size well.

DOSTM and “Black Black” are the gaps in the series. The vintage black if I can pick up a real bargain, but very low priority. The Pitch black seems a bit sterile and not really different enough from the DSOTM to warrant adding to the collection in my mind.

but that might have to wait. Reconsidering the 160 and Montreal atm. Ffs!!! ::screwloose::

Very well said. Especially in the case of this latest Ed White. It's so expensive and for that kind of money, I'd rather have an original.

However in general, the allure of these re-editions for me is being able to daily wear a vintage style watch, made with the latest manufacturing quality, technology, materials and finish. I'd feel very apprehensive wearing any watch older than 40 years as a daily watch. It's really more like an antique museum piece. Case in point, I really love my Speedy FOIS which is a re-edition of the ref. CK2998 Speedmaster. OK, it doesn't have the 321 movement, but it does have its modern day equivalent. Moreover, it's very reasonably priced, as is the basic Speedy Pro moon watch. Both of which provide the vintage feel experience of their originals from the '60s, but can be worn daily without worry.
