Apparently, Breitling are better than they've ever been.

Whats there to complain about? Now they do what people want, no focus on new designs just keep looking back and repeat old designs over and over... no but its just like you've been saying many times, brands put themselves in a place where eventually they can never take the risk of designing something modern and contemporary.

Maybe not for you and Jim, but for many others - yes. Breitling's sales have increased in 2018 & 2019, that's saying something.

As much as I don't like it I actually think going 'retro' was the best thing for Breitling since that's clearly what they wanted to be in the first place and it would seem the punters agree. I think trying to sell modern watches in the £7k+ price range is a bit of a hard job, much easier to sell fancy Navitimers that won't depreciate too much I guess. Since I didn't support them by buying that Avenger Hurricane I wanted I guess I can't moan too much, but Jim did buy a quartz Breitling so he's allowed to bitch all he likes.;)

I discovered this guy while surfing, did some research and then committed due to its affordability and my fascination with green dials. Just received it and I must admit it is extremely well made and has its own character. The Nethuns Lava LS112...Seiko NH35 movement, 24 jewels...

I read about this yesterday and thought, "an ultraviolet themed watch would surely be one that had some cool design show up under ultraviolet light, not just be purple."

@chocoheuerlic pointed this out in IG.
We all know the story, perhaps even more famous than the Speedy moonlanding one. Turns out most probably Hillary nor Norgay wore a Rolex on the summit of Everest

That was quite a long read! All it really proves is that companies over-blowing their products' importance or achievements isn't a recent phenomenon. The people that really know what happened are the ones who went on the expedition, if any of them are still alive and if they can remember.

Still love my 36mm Explorer, though.

Apparently, that Pagani 'Aquaracer' I bought my friend for his birthday has gained 15 seconds in the last three weeks, which is less than a second a day. Isn't that like 'chronometer' spec? He's impressed, but it makes him wonder why he spent £3200 on his Tudor Pelagos...

That is far, far, far more accurate than chronometer specification.

i do quite fancy adding a Hublot to the box at some point. I know that they’re not everyone's cup of tea and have a bit of a ‘footballer’ image but I like how different they are and the innovation. Anyone got one who can comment on the quality?
