Yes, that is the biggest downside! It should have been priced around 8K.

If it were $8k, I would easily choose it over the Seamaster or Breitling. But for me, at $14k, the price totally kills any desire I had for that watch.

I hear you! I always wanted an Ed White Speedmaster, so I am begrudgingly willing to pay the price for it.

That's great, more power to you! I'm sure even at that price it won't be easy to get. But knowing you, you'll find a way to get one. Looking forward to some pics after you get it.

I signed up to the Omega purchase list the day it was announced. Hopefully one of these days this year I'll get the call.

And that's the reason why Omega and the like continue to overprice their watches :rolleyes:

Stopped by my local Omega Boutique today to check out the new Bond watch. While I like it on the NATO, the bracelet looked much better in person to me. If I were to buy one, think I'd get it with the bracelet and get the NATO strap after. But with the bracelet, it's almost double the cost of a normal 300M Seamaster. Kind of disappointed by the box, since it's not a box and really more of a pouch. So still unsure about the Bond watch vs. the Breitling 765 AVI re-edition, and I still think neither is really worth their asking prices.

Where did you see it? I was in LA this week and the Omega boutique at the Beverly Center said they hadn't received any.

Did you introduce yourself though, I'm sure if you'd have told them you were Hubert the Great of Calibre11 and showed them a photo of your chopper...;)

What do you guys think about the Navitimer ref 806 1959 re-edition, which was released last year? While the Navitimer could be an acquired taste for some, I rather like this re-edition of the definitive "all black" vintage Navitimer and think I'd choose it over the Breitling 765 AVI re-edition.

It's quite busy but I do like it. 41mm a bit big for me, but these are meant to be that size. I could never buy one, though, unless I knew what all those scales and numbers meant (and that's not going to happen!).

    Understatement!

The only watch with more writing on the dial than a Daytona.

Learning how to use all the numbers and scales is part of the charm of the Navitimer for me. It's like having an "analog" flight computer on your wrist, the original smart watch if you will. ;)

Breitling just announced this new watch, the Bentley Mulliner LE. I like the look and like that they didn't plaster "Bentley" on the watch. Under the guidance of Georges Kern, I think Breitling is on a roll with their spot on vintage re-editions and their new designs.
I hope we'll see the same kind of thing with TAG Heuer.

Don't forget that if the rumors materialize, the next heritage Carrera will have a white dial with blue sub-registers, with color accents reminiscent to the Heuer Montreal.

When do we expect this next heritage Carrera to materialize? Sooner than the 60th anniversary Carrera I hope.

The Blue Jack Heuer 81 is what I thought of when I saw Breitling's new watch.
