And is it more beautiful than an already blued screw that they usually use that takes 3-4 minutes to make?

I would never accuse Hamilton of having good taste.

Well that is the beauty of this hobby, so many different tastes. Can also add that I am completely in love with and amazed by the IWC perpetual calendars in pilot versions, perfection in my eyes

I just saw that too. It doesn't seem to be a "limited edition", which can be a good and/or bad thing.

    So what do we think?

I like it, especially on the matching NATO strap and the domed crystal is cool. But it's a bit pricey for me. The good thing, if it's not a LE, is that I can save up and potentially get one later.

I just got the email also. I like it too, but at over £7000 on mesh, it's more expensive than my Speedmaster Trilogy, and I don't think it's as special as that. I also prefer the NATO to the mesh.

I prefer it on the NATO, but the price is still steep. I want to see in the metal next year, before committing. Hopefully this will become more accessible on the gray market.

The hefty price tag at $9200 USD is the biggest drawback for me. I'd definitely go for the NATO version and save $1100. But even at $8100, it's more than I'd want to spend on this watch. I do like it though.

Herve Watches just launched the Alvia. Basically a dirt cheap Carrera ‘hommage’.

I wouldn't quite call it a Carrera homage, although it does take certainly some design cues. Lugs have a similar profile, and it's clean and simple. But it's a 3-hander and the case is brushed, not polished. I like it, but not sure I'll get one. I suspect for the price, I'd end up disappointed at the finishing. Can't seem to find any decent close-up photos in natural lighting. Lots of low-light teaser videos, renders and far-away shots on models (on which the blue dial looks more green)
