Yeah the JH80 is praised as far as i know.
But the blue one i am not so sure. I saw one in steel (the blue one) when i was hunting for JH80 and decided not to buy it.
I always wonder will it be love at first sight if i ever see JH80 in steel.

My local AD here in the USA called me back on the availability of the new Autavia, so that's great news. I'm inclined to buy the watch with the steel bracelet and buy the strap separately (rather than vice versa). Any thoughts?

One thing I don't like about the brown strap is that it has a tang buckle rather than a deployant clasp. How would I attach an aftermarket deployant clasp to this strap? Alternatively, can someone recommend an aftermarket similar brown leather strap (with similar contrast stitching) that comes with a deployant clasp?

Yes, I pre-ordered from Tourneau. Apparently they got very few.

 

Does Tourneau tend to provide discounts? My local AD is a jewelry store, which tends to provide like 10% to 15% discounts.

 

Unfortunately no discounts. However I did put it on their card with a 18 month interest free payment plan.

First thoughts?

 

Much nicer in person than in pictures. The polished bracelet is very shiny. I typically prefer leather bands, but I just couldn't take the brown one currently offered. If they come out with a black option, I may purchase that later. It is remarkable beautiful. One of the best watches I've purchased. The watchmaker that adjusted my bracelet, couldn't help himself from saying "WOW" over his breath, when he started working on it.

 

I have to agree, it is very nice. I wasn't impressed based on all the photographs and media but having tried one on in my local boutique the other day, I couldn't help but be impressed. It was surprisingly light, for a 42mm stainless steel chrono and the grains of rice bracelet was just lovely. The oversized bezel was, in fact, not oversized.

Very nice, but actually not one for me.

 

Honestly speaking most of the picture didnt do real justice to the autavia.

But i am still not getting it for now. I am gonna wait, for next year Heuer reedition or new.
