I have mine ready to be picked up. Put a deposit on this one and it looks like this is more wearable than the 90s which I picked up earlier. In all probability, I will be putting up the 90s for sale. More than happy to let that go to a fellow collector.

    Cheers.

    Congrats on the 10s!

I daily wear my 90s, but can see how the 10s could be even more wearable. It's understated and also more dressy looking IMO.

Great to see that a few of these landed in the hands of people on the forum. I'm still happy with my 1980s choice, but I do like this one a lot..enjoy!

I will upload the pictures when I get some time. The 10s definitely is excellent in flesh.

"The Monaco has earned its VIP treatment by clocking a series of firsts in its illustrious history. These include the first water resistant watch in a square case; the first automatic chronograph; and it was worn in a race in 1970 by Jo Siffert, the first racing driver to be sponsored by a watch brand, Heuer."

Anybody know if this is true? I had never heard that Siffert raced with a Monaco before. If so, it certainly adds to the watch's racing cred.

EDIT: I guess it is true. At least this article corroborates the story that Jo Siffert did race with the Monaco: https://thewatchlounge.com/tag-heue...ic-chronograph-ref-caw211p-review-with-price/

"On the 3rd of March, 1969, the Heuer Monaco was launched simultaneously in Geneva and New York. Jack Heuer named it after the Monaco Grand Prix. It was the first self-winding chronograph watch with a water-proof square case. The following year, it made its track debut on the wrist of the Swiss driver Jo Siffert."

Never knew that, kind of cool!

Picked up mine today, so much nicer than in the pictures although the pictures that Heuer 1860 put up gives people a much better view of it than most I’ve seen .... C8E7518D-E433-4919-927C-B3FF65E23A45.png

Somebody said to me yesterday 'If they have 4 of the 5 watches, why didn't they just buy the set?'

Simple answer, if you're not keen on one of them it's a waste of money, not to mention the box costs £5k!

Answer in my case as to buying 4 is .... I hadn’t intended to buy 4 from the outset, it just sort of happened !
I bought the 70s, wasn’t sure about the 80s and didn’t get to see it in the flesh, but the local boutique had me on the waiting list for 3 so I saw that and bought it and the same with the other 2. Still have not seen the 80s but if I did ......

MSpeedster - these are the sunnies, Italian made by Persol, they come in various lense shades but you need to have the blue ... as you can see they fold - not sure but they appeared with our friend Steve wearing them in The Thomas Crown Affair movie ... 7B7D4AA5-0C88-41F9-9C41-FAA64B878EC2.jpeg 2FE983B4-8107-4A48-BE77-811874EEA3D3.jpeg 8A159491-A742-4A6E-9710-A06BAC064056.jpeg
