Similar response in the US too. TH HQ emailed my AD and confirmed that it does indeed fit the older 39mm case (e.g. CAW211P), but they didn't recommend it. (I guess because they want you to buy the new Monaco w/ bracelet.;))

They also quoted the US price, but could not give an ETA on delivery. My AD hasn't received the new black Monaco yet, when they do, they think they'll be able to get the bracelet during that time frame. I'm in no hurry, since I prefer my straps anyway and the weather is getting cooler again.

In case someone is interested: Due to a misunderstanding, a new bracelet should currently be available in the TH Boutique in GVA (better call them to be sure), au prix de 290 CHF...

i agree. That vid sold me on the bracelet. Can't wait to get mine. I really like how discrete they’ve made the clasp/closure. And it looks like a chunky bracelet.

Tempted by the watch itself too. But will resist. Must resist!!

While we wait for the bracelet, I was at least able to put my old (= Cal.12) Black McQueen on the 3rd party strap on which I expected it to shine the most:

In case this is useful to someone:
TH does not seem to use the “standard” springbars with 0.8mm tips, but rather much more rare ones with 0.9mm tips.

Really liking what TH is bringing to the table here:
    - nice alternating surface finishes,
    - great drape,
    - double-screw bars (not pin & collar),
    - superbe clasp action (individual links are short, so the lack of an adjustment mechanism shouldn’t be an issue).

I don’t pretend to be an expert when it comes to bracelets, but I honesty feel that TH is offering great value for money here.

I want to take one more link out. The bracelet has screws on both sides. I ordered 2 x 1.4mm screwdrivers. Can someone confirm that is the right size. Also the bracelet seems to have double flange spring bars.

This new Monaco is so close to ticking all of the boxes for me. I love the Monaco- great heritage, a distinct design, etc. However, like so many automatic chronographs, I hate that that the chronograph doesn’t count to 12 hours...but this new Monaco does just that!

However, to me, a quintessential element of the Monaco is having two registers, not three. So much of the Monaco’s heritage feels pushed aside with this third register (however discrete), and the dial feels cramped - the seconds hand is literally obscuring the date window because there’s so little room.

I wish TAG Heuer had consolidated the hours+minutes into a single register, like OMEGA has done on a few of their newer chronographs (unfortunately, they are 44mm behemoths).

I imagine my request is technically demanding - but I’d even consider this version if they simply removed the running seconds hand register all together, and left this new design as-is. Of course, it’s hard to tell if the watch is or isn’t running without a running seconds hand; I imagine that would be a dealbreaker for most folks.

Also, do I understand the movements are being discarded and replaced with a new one at time of service? I realize watchmakers are scarce, but it’s so unromantic. I am really wailing against the ocean at this point! I realize Tudor is doing this same practice, too, and the industry is shifting in the direction of replacing movements at time of service as consumer demand and quality control costs outpace the supply of watchmakers.

No worries about this if you buy the new Monaco. I believe this is not the case with the Heuer02 movement, since it is an integrated chronograph movement.

For modular chronograph movements it is correct though, the chronograph module is disposable and replaced with a brand new module upon service. Base movement is disassembled and serviced though.

That's what I've been waiting to see. Looks great. Definitely one option I'd take next year when picking up one. I can't tell from the pictures but is there a difference in the finishing (brushed/ polished) from the case to the bracelet?

Also with the bracelet does it make it very heavy, compared to a normal steel bracelet watch? (ie Sub, Aquaracer, BB)
