Finally arrived!! :) I wished this watch since it was launched in 1994 , because Ayrton Senna was -and still is- my hero, and even more since I met him personally in Spa-Francorchamps 1993

It was too expensive for me in 1994, and being a Limited Edition of just 1000 units (in Gents size like this one, the bigger one, Ref. WH1114) it was quickly sold out... so it was like an impossible dream

This is the Calibre11 guide for the Senna TAG Heuer watches, with info about this 6000, the only one of the Senna watches created while he was alive and with his involvement:

And this is the Calibre11 guide for the 6000 series: https://www.calibre11.com/tag-heuer-6000-series-overview/

So when I found this brand new (NOS) 6000 Senna WH1114 in Australia, 25 years after it was launched... 25 years after Ayrton is missing... I went for it!

It was a long wait (mainly because of the customs), but when it finally arrived, brand new, with all the stickers and labels... I had a very special feeling, making the dream possible, 25 years later :)

I found the watch in this Australian company:
    http://www.jamisonwholesale.com/
And its Director, Rodney Mangion was very kind and professional. He even sent me a beautiful leaflet about this Limited Commemorative Edition. So thanks Rodney! It was a pleasure to deal with you!

The included Certificate also explains that Sfrs. 500 of each sold watch were donated to the Senna Foundation to help underprivileged children

After 25 years waiting, it was time to remove the stickers and labels, and finally wear this 993/1000 Senna :)

It’s so beautiful ::love::, and it looks very different depending on the light and the angle

It looks small on the wrist if we compare it with current 43-45mm watches, but not too small. In fact it looks slightly bigger than my other Senna coexisting watch (which I bought in 1996): the S/EL Chronograph, here side by side:

I have ordered in my AD the other strap that was originally available for the WH1114 (the bracelet BA0675), to join the black leather strap FC6030, because I love both combos ::love::

    Magical, thank you for sharing.

I did not know that there is only one true Senna watch

What was the original price for this beauty 25 years ago?

    :) You’re welcome!

I don’t remember the price in Barcelona, but it was very expensive for me at that time, and the 1000 watches were all sold out very quickly

The only information I have from its price when it was launched (October 1994), is this article:

    26C875FE-ED72-43B2-B6B3-9F4F455D8867.jpeg
So it was £1700 on bracelet, and £1300 on leather strap... Quite expensive 25 years ago, for a quartz watch! (The price included around £250 for the Senna Foundation)

    This is the complete article:

Congratulations! I remember that watch from back in the day, I would have loved to have gotten one too. It's remarkable that you found a NOS, quite the find! That is a watch to be cherished for sure!

And they’ve arrived: the bracelet BA0675 and a spare black calfskin leather strap FC6030! :)

Well done for the TAG Heuer Customer Service, being so easy to find in my AD (Unión Suiza, Barcelona) this bracelet and strap brand new for a 25 years old watch, and at a very reasonable price: 295€ the bracelet, and 97€ the leather strap

I love this bracelet, very personal and unique for the 6000 series. The leather strap is fixed with screws, but the bracelet is fixed with springbars.
I also love how the 6000 Senna looks with the bracelet! ::love::

Ah I see you did get a new bracelet, personally I prefer it on the strap (that particular 6000 that is), don't know why... maybe because Senna didn't wear a bracelet?

Yes, you are right! This watch was offered with both options (black calfskin leather strap or bracelet), so that means that Ayrton gave the OK to both versions, but he used to wear leather straps (with the S/el and the 6000), so with the leather strap the watch makes more -historical- sense...

Instead of wearing it 6 months with each option, I think it will be 4 months with the bracelet, and 8 with the black leather strap! ;)
