    Hi Guys,

I'm new here and please bear with me. I need your help with my Autavia, I'm thinking of have it service/repair and I'm just wondering if someone here leave in OC california have a recommendation. I did check some of the Authorize Dealer here locally which are Ben Bridge and Tourneau.

My watch is already a 10 years old and i have noticed my top button is kind of stuck (sometimes).

    your help is really appreciated.

Ben Bridge and Tournea will most likely send it to TAG Heuer for service.

I have one of those Siffert Autavias and I serviced mine a couple of years ago, after the water pressure test failed. So you definitely should be careful with yours, to prevent any water damage.

Hi Hubert, thanks for the info. i think it's time to have it service but not sure if better of to bring it to one of AD store that i mentioned (for safe purposes) or other small service center? i really love my Autavia and want to take care of this and maybe i might give it to my son in a couple of years once he is in college. ;-)

so you think better to bring it to one of those AD store?

    again thanks for your response.

If you have a trusted watchmaker, you could try bringing it to him and see what he says. If not, your best bet would be the AD who will send it to TAG. It may cost a bit more that way, but you'll have peace of mind.

Hi Abrod520, thanks for the info. Well as for now i dont have a trusted watchmaker :-( huhuhu anyway, it seems i dont have a choice but to bring it to AD. Any idea how much will it run? Rough estimate?

    Thanks again for the info!

I really don't know unfortunately, but the AD should be able to give you a quote for a basic service (obviously parts will cost more if it is discovered that your watch is in need of replacements)

If you want it serviced by TAG Heuer, you can either take the watch to an Authorized Dealer or send it to TAG Heuer directly. Call them to get an estimate.

I don't know if this is just in the US, but sending it directly to TAG means you must pay for the shipping, and more importantly insure the package, yourself.

    Hi Abrod520,

I just went to two of AD’s here in Cali, in Ben Bridge - they will check it first in house tech and if need to send it to Tag they will charge me $50 (no refund) then in Torneau they will check in house tech and if need to send to Tag no charges for me.

This is for service/overhaul maintenance. Then both of them will call me and give me estimate of the cost, if i want to go for the service or not. No charges if i dont want to have it service.

Good, sounds like you're all set then.

Funny, I've just dropped off my new Siffert this Wednesday for warranty repair at a Tourneau, also in California. Let's see who gets theirs back first :)

    Hi Hubert,

You are correct, i saw that website/link and having a second thought of going this path. So im checking Local AD to get more info including here in Forum. Maybe there is some suggestions that will be helpful.

I would like to try small decent watch service center but its hard to trust them. Specially this kind of watch which i really like it.

    Thanks guys for the help!

No matter where you drop your watch off, it'll be sent to TAG Heuer's service center in New Jersey - unless they think their in-house technicians can handle it (meaning just a basic service). If they keep it in-house you should be fine

I had to my vintage Autavia sent to Switzerland couple of times. Once the process was managed by Tag's boutique in Geneva and the second time by Wempe in NY (Tourneau would have done the same). Unfortunately for most watchmakers the lack of parts in the free market makes Heuer's vintage workshop the only choice.

    Hi NB,

Wow..!! Really make sense though.. if local watch service center doesnt have parts most likely they have to sent to the main dealer service center.

Now i know that some customers or majority of them are sending their watches to AD store for service.

    Thanks NB!
