Didn't the other one (the one in the museum) sell for $800,000?

Wait a minute... it says serial number 1133, isn't that the 'model' number - pretty weak for a certificate of authenticity!

They could have framed it as well, rather than just propping it up against the wall - c'mon TAG Heuer!

Also, can't help but think it could be worth more if there was only one watch.

    There were 6.
This one appears to have some rust and bumps. I don't think this will go above 200K.

But out of the 6, 4 were kept by the prop master, Donald Nunley. Only 2 were owned by McQueen, this was one of them. The last one that sold in 2012 was one of the 4 kept by Nunley. It sold for close to $800k.

Hence with inflation, and this one having more of a "story" behind it, I'm guessing close to $1M. We'll see.

Don't forget the buyer was TAG Heuer, so that may be a factor.

1M !!!! I hope it can be 2M so it can really stand to its name as the McQueen Monaco (2M) ;);)

Good point. But I assume they were bidding against others, it's not like they went all in at 800K with their first bid. So it all depends on whether there's still those types of motivated buyers that are fans of McQueen and/or the Monaco.

I don't have the full bidding history on the 2012 Monaco auction, but remember how the starting bid on the Paul Newman Daytona was 10M?

Sometimes in these high profile auctions there is a highly suspicious starting-bid that jacks-up the price.

That was as shonky as hell, I start the bidding at $1M ....

    I'll give you $10M.

Made absolutely no sense at all.

Even Mr Bacs looked like he was thinking 'don't be stupid Tiffany'... kinda reminds me of this

That was bizarre. Who the fudge is Tiffany, and how does she's have so many clams?

Auctioneer can take phantom bids up to reserve (in UK) if rules are same in other countries then you don't necessarily need 2 bidders.
