Glad to share also sir ;) Car taxes really have differences per country, and it depends if certain MOA (memorandum of agreement) is in place. For example, Jap cars more than 3.0L displacement have certain tax cuts. Basically, our prices for cars are more or less the same for ASEAN (South East Asian) region. European cars have more taxes, thus the hefty taxes for German cars and the GR Supra eventhough a Jap Toyota badge.

For watches, it depends. Most of my TAG Heuer / Heuer watches came from foreign / local ADs, some I have purchased through fellow watch enthusiasts and a few at TH boutiques. My motto is, buy what you want and makes you smile more than you expect :D Life is short! TH has alot of variety and it’s good enough for me

I have F1 heroes like Senna, Lauda, Kimi & Alonso. For Le Mans, we have the King of Cool SMQ, and I’d add Keiichi Tsuchiya, famously known as Drift King or Dorikin. Other than his hosting, touge and media celebrity presence, he WON two class wins in the 24H of Le Mans driving a Honda NSX (GT2, 1995) and a Toyota GT-One (LMGT, 1999) which also finished 2nd overall that year! ::rimshot:: He owns several cars in his collection but famoulsy owns his Tec Art tuned AE86, GT86 and NSX-R NA2.

WoW S2000 EB! :) Hondas are known for their awesome FWD cars but this S2000 is truly something different! Wish I could drive one and experience Honda RWD. They say it’s like a Miata/MX-5 but more powerful and with VTEC? Is it true? ;)

It used to be the most powerful NA engine in the world (in terms of most kw produced per liter) which was then taken over by the Ferrari 458. It is a very different animal to the MX-5, with the MX-5 producing 118kw from its 2.0L engine and the S2000 producing 177kw from its 2.0L engine!! I will let @Pitfitter446 tell you more, sorry for the hijack :D

Don't discount the Rotary engine. The Mazda RX-8 also produced 177kw but from a tiny 1.3L NA engine!

Just for grins, here's Rod Serling, of Twilight Zone fame, pitching the Rotary for Mazda in 1974.

This is true, but Rotary engines use some dark magic so they don't count :D RX-8 was my favourite car growing up!

LOL. Your statement would've been correct if you had said "most kw per liter by a NA piston engine".
The RX-8 was another beautifully handling rotary sports car. It was very successful in motorsport, winning various series championships and most notably its GT class wins at the 2008 & 2010 24 Hours of Daytona!

However, following the gorgeous shape of the 3rd gen RX-7 (FD) model, the RX-8's avant-garde 4-door design wasn't as appealing to me.

Kinda, they’re slightly different classes of car. The s2000 is more a boxter competitor than mx5 competitor. The s2000 has a fantastic engine, interior and driving position- it feels like you are sat in a cockpit. The mx5 is a lot more basic (at least the first two generations that were current with the s2000), clearly playing on the ‘little British sports car’ ideology. The mx5 is desperately underpowered as standard, but a turbo/supercharged mx5 with about 200bhp is perfect, and has a more playful chassis than the s2000, the mx5 is much less twitchy than the s2000 and a lot more fun to drive.

Well, didn’t expect that amount of interest, my mate has a modded mx5 at 250ish bhp, that’s an animal, we have looked at mx’s But prefer the S2’s 9k rev limiter and driving fun, and there’s a bit more cabin/boot space, tried a Caymann but wife didn’t the roof, it was fixed! Boxster just too dear for me, tried the Rx8 a couple of times, had a friends car for a week and it too had a roof but hot start issues and oil consumption was a worry so we passed, although we loved the 4 door set up, and it went well. Having worked in a Honda dealer I had the inside track on prices so between a 34% discount on a new one and a buyer sent my way by work for the older one it was a no brainier to renew the car, only car we’ve owned that she would go out in purely for a drive on her own, prices are rising and now it’s 12 year ld I’m only on a £3k loss at the moment. Keep the oil checked, the alignment correct with decent tyres, respect the vtec kick in the wet and it’s a hoot, even at my age.:whistling:

:) They are appreciating here as well, you cannot buy one now for less than they cost new when they were released! The S2000 is a real gem, a fefinate collectors in years to come. I am keeping my eyes peeled, and have been for a while, for a well looked after, yellow S2000. It would really go well with the FN2 and FK2

If I have the time (and more garage), I’d like to build a Miata MX-5, keep it lightweight, stick shift and naturally aspirated. My grandfather used to have an NA 1st Gen MX-5 before. Honda NAs are quite expensive to build full spec and can certainly be money pits :whistling: I’m keeping my CW FK8 relatively stock (for now ;)) Only 300 FK8s were sold in the Philippines. I’m not into more power but more of good handling and balance, usable and sensible street setup with occasional track use.

Thanks for sharing sir @Tag_ZA, sir @dtf & sir @Pitfitter446 ! Glad to have some Honda fanboys here also :)

Very nice, if you do please post pics!

There are a few guys here with some Honda NA builds, mostly a K24 build in the old civic bodies, some very nice stuff.

I am also keeping my FK2 pretty stock for now, very few of them this side, a lot more Fk8's though. Post some pics of the 8 please! ::love::

I like Honda, but surprisingly have never owned one, although I've test driven several - including the S2000. I almost bought a S2000 CR back in its day. Wish I did, because those have really appreciated in value. But even back then, I was simply too old to be seen driving around with a big wing like that.

Other than the S2000 and Miata MX-5 both being open top cars, the two drive very differently, and I do not feel were direct competitors in the market. The Miata is probably the most fun you can have while driving slow, while the S2000 wants to be driven hard - IMHO.

My Miata was the Mazdaspeed Turbo, the only OEM turbo-charged Miata MX-5 to have ever been offered by Mazda. It looked like the one in these pics.
