    Hey guys,

I am not sure this kind of thread has been built before, i am fairly new member, its close to friday and i am bored. Hope its okay.

So without further due, if you are a one watch guy, and not concern about budget at all, what watch will you use for the rest of your life, and why ?

Me, i will choose V4 tourbillon ref WAW2081. i think its a very versatile watch. Will look very cool on my usual rolled sleve kind of style. Obviously its not obnoxiously big. the right size for me, i would say.

I have a feeling from time to time i might have legibility issue with this watch but i will get entertain and wouldn't complaint in between time i need to wait for meeting or etc just by watching the tourbillon in motion.

The strap is black in color as my preferance means that its obviously formal enough to wear to serious function.

By the way, of course this is just for fun, i could never be one watch guy. it just too many good watch out there, in my opinion.

    Cheers

Meh - I think if it's one watch to wear for the rest of your life, it's gotta be something that doesn't need to live in a safe deposit box!

Definitely an old 2915 Speedmaster or early Autavia. Couldn't live with a modern watch as my only watch

I like the rolex daytone but my only beef is that, to my knowledge it's a non transparent case back.

I figured if its gonna be my only watch. i would like to see inside it sometimes

Is there any daytona that use transparent caseback ?

Aftermarket (third party) sapphire caseback comes in around $250 if that's your thing.
Of course, that's stainless steel with a window, not white gold with a window!
If money is no object, I'm sure you could get the original caseback modified......but I wouldn't.

This is a tough question indeed from Otto... hmm.

I guess if money is no object then we can't be too concerned about damage... so in that case I will go for a Monaco 24 Concept Gulf.

    Hmm, tough question.

    I'd love a Carrera Mikrograph

If it wasn't a TAG Heuer? Rolex Daytona 6263 for Vintage...

...and for a new watch, well, why not a Patek 5170R

I'm still pondering on that question. I'll try to have an almost definitive answer.

Amazing a lot of people like daytona. Personally daytona is my favorite among all rolex.

I love the vintage one...but really dislike the newer ones with the steel bezel. Even the new one with the ceramic bezel leaves me cold...but these older ones are a different story. The Newman gets all the headlines, but for me the 6263 is a nicer option.

My only problem with it is the caseback. i would want my one and only watch to have transparent caseback. plus its not a diving watch. no reason not to give it transparent caseback
