I have been collecting watches from 50's, 60's and 70's. I have never owned a Heuer. I'm considering an early 80's 1000 Diver's watch 980.013. The watch is in good condition. For a first Heuer watch, is this a desirable entry watch?... or should I invest in an Autavia instead which is definitely more. Thank you!
Here it is from the 1984 Catalogue I'm a big fan of the 1000 series- perfect way to get into the world of Heuer. You can read more about them here This is a mid-sized model, with a much thinner case that the full-size 844/ 980.006 which has a different case design. You won't go wrong with one of these. Autavia is a different story altogether. Certainly more expensive- with a big premium for the 1960s models (best part of $10,000) ,while most 1970s are still affordable. Let us know which you choose
