English, but I've been to Ireland on business and on holiday -- mainly Counties Cork & Kerry taking a bicycle in the car. The most frightened I have ever been was downhill on a bicycle in a fully developed tank-slapper in C. Cork.

And there is a well-known Irish brand of butter on the shop shelves in the UK ;)

Oh yes, I prefer Beamish over Guinness :p

Ah that figures! Personally I'm a Guinness man myself (although I'm almost a non-drinker since I hardly touch the stuff!). Yeah chances are I'll be looking to get my Monaco in the UK

What is likely to be happening here is exactly what @MRC said- they don't have the watch. What they are looking to do it take your money and then go and buy the Monaco from one of their suppliers...and even better, it costs them no working capital because it's you who is financing! They get to make a zero-risk margin. Now, they would argue that this is why their price is so low. I have seen this go wrong in the past, where days turn into weeks and the watch still hasn't turned up.

I'd also be a little skeptical of Chrono24 feedback. There's nothing wrong with it, but remember that Chrono24's customers are the watch dealers (that is who pays their fees), so I'd bet that if they did have a bad review and the dealer put pressure on Chrono24....

Any ideas where their suppliers are? How do grey dealers get such cheap prices?

Their suppliers are usually ADs in a different country, e.g. Eastern Europe, who are keen to offload excess stock.

You should be able to negotiate a discount from a UK AD. Maybe you won't achieve the grey price but you might get 10-15% depending on the model.

But 10% discount would still make it insanely expensive. In Sweden the list price is around 5500 Euro and Pluswatch wants 3800, I would never ever even consider buying from an AD because of this

True for some models. There are great discounts to be had if you buy from places like Moldova.

authenticwatches.com and jomashop are solid grey market dealers. Check what they have before exploring alternatives no one here ever heard of.

And that with 3-5 weeks delivery, it means they don't have the watch and will need to source one for you.

Basically I'm 21 on thursday next week. I have absolutely no problem getting the watch a bit late as long as it arrives safely. I'm gonna check out these people in Monaco called Mall Of The Watch as their reviews are v honest and they seem legit. They also ship in Europe in 2-6 days

After careful consideration it looks like I'm going with Mall Of The Watch based in Monaco. All their reviews seem very honest, they've been very pleasant and knowledgeable in their emails, it will ship to Ireland in 2-6 days and the price is excellent. I might use the trusted checkout on chrono24 just for extra peace of mind. I wont be ordering the watch until next week so unfortunately I wont have it in time for my 21st but that's a small price to pay. Please wish me luck guys. I've been dreaming of a Monaco for nearly 10 years!

marcushogan37, it seems every time I check in on this site, you have posts concerning about where, how and what to look for when buying the Monaco watch. A person who wants to cut costs would not usually be so cautious about the watch they receive. There are many things that could be wrong with a discounted watch. I have no experience with Mall Of The Watch. Their prices are cheap, but why is the watch graded at 95% condition? Why is it cheap? Why is the original box not there?

The Monaco has a fair bit of mirror-polish finish and it doesn't take much to scratch this. I've managed to keep mine perfectly scratch free for 18 months, but I have seen them new on display with scratches around the winding crown, where they've been handled rough. These are the details that you'll notice once you've purchased it, start to appreciate it and look closer.

imo if it were me and I'm fussy, I wouldn't be taking risks buying from an unknown source to save money. No matter how much saving. I like special personal items to be perfect and then I can enjoy them for the rest of my life.

Good luck with your purchase, I can recommend Iconic Watches in the UK as I have used them and they were excellent, not sure if they would be able to match the price you are getting though.
