I’ll add it to my “ wishlist “...
Went to my AD today to have a look at one of these. They're so beautiful. The AD is part of the group I work for and so I qualify for a 33% discount on all watches. This brings the price to a very desirable level!
Found these Gulf Racing inspired driving gloves in a shop while visiting Tokyo. They're made by Motorimoda and the leather quality is top notch. My wife thinks they look ridiculous! But I just couldn't help myself. LOL.
I fear your wife may be correct .
I think both of you are right.
Damn I want this watch... Been trying to talk myself out of it but everytime I see it I want it more!
Now Gulf Man just needs the rest of his superhero outfit!
Now that you've put it on a black strap, the watch makes more sense. Or rather, the pushers and crown make more sense! Good move.
Just get it! You know you want it !
Made an offer on one on Chrono, let's see It is a lot of watch for the money.
Just received my Gulf watch. Great watch...terrible strap. Going to leave the original strap in the box and look for a replacement. Probably black with orange stitching. Any suggestions?
I've tried various leather rally straps with the watch, black & orange as above, but also black & blue stitching (see my pics on page 4 of this thread). I might try the blue & orange rally strap that I got for my Monaco Gulf too someday. But for me, I honestly like this watch best with its original strap.
I love the look of the strap but it doesn't wear well. Very uncomfortable. Trying to find the same blue color is next to impossible so I'm not even going to try. I did find this strap and deployant clasp on strapco but don't think it will look that good on the watch. The orange looks too bright.
I think I'm going to buy a cheap NATO Gulf strap for the time being until I find the right leather strap.
Just found this rubber strap. I'm not too keen on rubber but this one looks good. The colors look right.
My advice is to not buy 3rd party deployant clasps. From personal experience, they just don't work that well. Shell out for a genuine TAG Heuer clasp and then buy aftermarket straps that fit it, noting that there are generally 2 types of clasps: 1 that takes a 3mm thick strap and 1 that takes a 2mm thick strap. (I am ignoring branding and buckle width which add further variants.)
Good advice. I did read somewhere that the aftermarket deployants are hit or miss on quality.
I'm going to go with the rubber strap so I can start wearing the watch. I'll keep searching for a leather with deployant (authentic TAG) and will swap it out one I get it. I'll post pics.
I finally went ahead and pulled the trigger on this. I have wanted this piece since it was announced. I decided to buy it through Chronext, their service really is amazing and their price too. They are a grey market seller and guarantee that the 2 years manufacturers guarentee is intact with the watch. I cannot wait for this to arrive, it should be here within the next 7 days.
Nice choice! We look forward to hundreds of sexy photos coming up then
Congratulations! I'm glad you found one at the right price for you! I'm sure you'll love it! Enjoy!
I have no issues with the comfort of the strap. I think you're the first to say its uncomfortable.
Perhaps you just need to give more time to bend to the contours of your wrist? Or you can try fastening the watch to something similar in diameter to your wrist, which might help to contour the fit without you having to deal with the discomfort.
