Enjoyed the movie tonight and was wondering if that is a Carrera on Shelby's wrist? Sure looks like it to me.

Obviously there is history between Shelby and Heuer.

Also spotted what appeared to be an Autavia on Ken Mile's character in one of the scenes.

Good spotting Hubert. Going to see soon.
Def looks like a Carrera. I am surprised it appears bigger than 36mm on Damon’s pretty large wrist.

Yes, I noticed that too. If it's not a vintage Carrera, I suppose it could be a prop watch, based on a modern Carrera. Or maybe a special model provided by TAG Heuer themselves. Maybe we'll see something like this next year? That would be something!

Lugs look like a Carrera but hard to tell for sure. Could equally be something like a Universal Geneve or even a Hamilton

It has been 'outed' on FB as a Carrera...although a bit of time-travelling was involved ;-) -

'Jeff Stein[IMG] .....There were no Carreras with contrasting dials / registers in the period 1963 (when the Carrera was introduced) to 1966. We first see the Reference 7753 SN circa 1970, as shown here -- http://www.onthedash.com/chronograph/carrera-7753-sn/ Property masters / costume personnel are usually a bit more careful!!

ps I'd still have it. :)

Very cool that they used the Carrera, even if not period correct. I had thought to myself when I first saw Hubert's post that I'd not seen a panda Carrera from the early-mid 60's. But I'm far from being an expert on the the vintage Heuers.

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. No question on which car I'll be driving (my Shelby of course), but the question is which watch to wear. LOL. ;)

Good commentary by Jeff. Nonetheless, I was glad that to see it in the movie. :)

Yes, I am hopeful about seeing what TAG Heuer has in store for next year's collection.

If they are listening, please bring these back in modern sizes (~41mm) with the Heuer-02 movement!

That have to, right? It’s time. HODINKEE Skipper, Rake and fragment Carrera were all well done. Time to bring the classic, minimal inspired Carrera design back into the fold permanently.

I’m going to try on a Calibre 5 Day Date to see how I feel about a 41mm case. 39mm just feels so right.

IMHO, the 39mm case is too small, especially if they keep the glassbox dome that virtually robs the dial 3 or 4mm of visibility.

So the curvature of the glassbox dome dome is the first thing that I would change. It's terrible.[IMG]

How about 39mm with a plexi crystal? :)

That could work, but I would much rather have a less arched dome, like in the Omegas.

The Carrera's glassbox "dome" robs too much visibility from the dial.

Zenith El Primero 38mm uses sharp angles, to avoid visibility loss.

Yes that is too round. Some pics of my 39mm calibre 17. Crystal has a sharper angle. No distortion when looking head-on.

I’m guessing they tried to imitate a vintage plexi look. Here some pics of my Arsa with a rounded plexi. However no distortion. 9102A65D-987D-4C94-8F8B-FAA13DB4A0BD.jpeg A2D716F3-A5B8-4960-B6DD-DA85319D0DE5.jpeg
