Thank you TGHC45, just disappointed that the front line Tag stores don't seems to have been brought up to speed on the products they are selling, Is it too much to expect that the store you bought the original Tag Connected from would know the details of the exchange ?

So strange... I had a good experience. I just called to the nearest TAG Heuer shop (which in my case was across the borders, but this is because there is no official TAG Heuer shop in my country), I ordered the watch I wanted by telephone, we made an appointment and on that day I gave back my old Connected and I got my new watch. I guess it helped that I went for option 4, the Connected Modular 45 plus the mechanical module, which are on the market rather than special editions.
But the fact that TAG Heuer shops are of no knowledge of the exchange deal is very strange to me.

Got an update- so figured I would share:

My order was placed 5 weeks ago today (about 2-3 weeks after the connected watch was returned). They initially said 4-6 weeks for the replacement special edition, but today that changed for the worse.

I was informed by the sales staff at Tag Customer Support that the special edition has been sold out for months, and the allocation for the United States is not a priority for Tag right now as they are feeding European countries with their orders first. They said that Tag wholeheartedly underestimated the demand for the SE watch, and that they are building new ones from scratch as we speak in Switzerland to feed the world-wide demand.

I was told there is a waiting list of USA customers who have sent back their connected AND paid in full (basically you got an order number). I was also told that not every person on the list can expect to receive a SE watch as there is only a limited remaining amount being built and it is first come-first serve basis. I was told I am near the top of the list, but that anyone at this point that tries to submit an order would be told that they should not expect to receive any of the USA allocated SE watches. HARSH!

They also said that the expected delivery date is now pushed back an addition 12-14 weeks (end of Nov, early Dec) for any first USA allocations. I mean there really isn't much turning back now- they have my money and my connected is probably gone too.

I feel like I am trying to get on the waiting list for the ultra rare Porsche 911 GT3RS allocation- Like I need to fight to get this watch when the opportunity to purchase one was essentially guaranteed to me upon purchasing the connected 2 years prior. That was part of the reason I pulled the trigger on the connected in the first place- I liked the trade in program! Very deceiving in the end.

If the special edition is no longer going to be made, then they should simply offer the Modular Calibre 5 module with the strap, or the option to pay more to get the Calibre 16 chronograph module.

In my opinion waiting for a watch is no problem and makes it even more desirable, altough it's more common with the real high end watches, as far as I know. But if they would not stick to the promised possibility to upgrade at all, it would be very disappointing. Even more since the Slogan was 'connected to eternity'.

No I think that is the modular 45mm. I want the special edition 46mm with proprietary band.

Yeah I guess what is the most annoying is that if it was not available, they should have offered something else rather than telling me it was available and then screwing me into waiting 4 months with no alternative option. 4 weeks wait time was fine when I sent the watch in back in July, and part of the reason I agreed to move forward and pay was because it did not seem that long of a wait.

Now to tell me out of nowhere (I had to check in btw, no updates can be expected..) it is an additional 4 months is annoying because I may have made a different decision had I known it was going to take half a year to get one.

I mean people walked into boutiques and exchanged them, so I should have just done that and probably would've gotten one of the ones that was allocated for boutique exchange in the first place. I actually get the feeling certain boutiques around the US have them and people just don't really know until they try to initiate a local exchange. They are probably sitting in the back of many stores just boxed up waiting.

Unfortunately for me, there is no alternative option to go to a boutique now, as I was told my Tag Connected was already sent back to switzerland. While the program said "all sales are final," I think the implication was that if you actually get the watch you cannot send it back for a return. What happens in a situation like mine if there is never a watch delivered? I get that I would get a refund for the $1,500 charge- but what about my connected which is gone? That is just ~$700 down the drain because Tag couldn't follow through?

The whole program was a complete disaster. The Tag USA Support team agreed with me 100%.

Got an e-mail yesterday saying that there was an unexpected shipment of the special edition 46mm watches and that mine is on the way fed ex 2nd day with signature. Not bad! Only 1 additional month I can live with! Will add photos when it arrives.

    It arrived-
I am technically a millennial, so I guess you could say the program worked as planned for Tag. Sell me a tech-y connected watch, trade me into my first mechanical tag two years later, and create an ongoing customer. While their exchange/customer service dept could use some work, the quality of the time piece trumps all the aggravation. But more than them being successful in their long term plan, I feel now that I have a sentiment as there is a story behind the process- not to mention you cannot just go out and buy this watch off the shelf. Millennials like a good story, and this exchange program offers them that.

Here are some pictures. Just like the connected- but lighter. The face has a nice sunburst effect in the light too.[IMG]

Very nice looking watch.... I am currently waiting for mine...
I have a question about it. What is the lug/strap setup like? can you easily change the strap on it? I was thinking if possible to putting a NATO type strap on it...

For those who are about to take the plunge...................... I dropped off my Tag connected 46 with case, box, all accessories, warranty card etc. at a tag heuer stockist near me, for option 2, with the promise of a 6 week approx turnaround.
9 weeks later i am still no closer to doing the "exchange".
So far I've been told, at 6 weeks, Tag are waiting for supplies of the Lungs to arrive, then, Tag are waiting to get the mech head unit into stock and at 8 weeks Tag themselves informed me "your watch is ready to ship, we are waiting for a till receipt (copy) from the store".
At 9 weeks I've have now been told that they are still waiting for the parts and Tag support would phone on friday 14th Dec. to let me know what is going on.
Inbetween these times the store informed me that Tag had told them, that I could not have the exchange due to me taking my watch to a different store from the one i originally purchased it from, despite advising that I could do the exchange at ANY tag Heuer stockist in the email I received when I first enquired about the exchange deal.
Slowly losing the will to live, I will let you all know if i ever get my exchange watch.
And yes you guessed it, Tag Heuer support didn't ring back on friday !!!
