    Hi,

I purchased a CS3110 off of the bay. I thought that I had done the due diligence but am now concerned.

The ad listed the watch as a CS3113 in the title but the description correctly identified the model as CS3110. Since it has the correct light dial I thought that there was a typo in the title...

The AD stamped, signed and dated warranty card also shows the model as CS3110 and the same serial # that is on the case-back. So far so good.

But the model number that is engraved on the case-back is CS3113...!

Do I have a watch with the wrong case-back(why does the serial # match the card?), a re-dial or a mistake from the factory? Fake warranty card?

    Thoughts would be appreciated?

    Thanks.

We will need to see pictures to confirm but, for some reason, your post sounded familiar to me!

I've never seen any attempt to fake one of the re-editions from this era and it is likely that the incorrect caseback stamp is just that.
If you are happy with the rest of the watch, just enjoy it! Will this impact the re-sale value? Well I guess it may put off some but, provided you paid a sensible price initially, I think you'll be fine! :)

If it has the serial number on it then it probably came like this from the factory. As Adam says, it's very unlikely to be a fake.

It will only affect resale in the sense that some people may question it in the same way you have and be put off buying.

If resale is really important to you, then I would try and return it but on the other hand, if the rest of the watch is really good, then it is worth living with. It is getting harder to find these watches in good condition.

Which one do you have? 3110 is the silver/white dial.
3113 is the black face with Daytona ring.

Fakes usually have random non-relevant numbers, and this series did not interest replicators.

I read that he has, essentially, a white/blue CS3110 just with a caseback stamped CS3113.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate it.

I've added some pics. As you can see, the dial and handset are from a CS3110.
I believe the box and booklet are not from a Carrera but a Monza re-edition...

So its either a redial with corrected hands or the wrong model engraved on the caseback? I can't imagine the AD would let this go but I'm probably naive.
I did try to reach out to the AD but have had no luck.

    Thanks

Lovely watch. Wrong caseback stamp. That's it.

Are you suggesting that the AD may provide some sort of explanation 14yrs after the original sale or that you bought this piece online from an AD recently?

If the circular case is embossed "Monza" on the top then that is a little disappointing but the correct boxes do crop up and you can always sell yours.

Overall, you should gauge your satisfaction against what you paid for the set. The watch head itself looks good to me with the original glass. A very handsome piece.

    Thanks.

It was hope against hope that the AD knew something. Although, the ADs in my neck of the woods(DC) have helped with sales going back 27 years.

I didn't pay an insane amount so I might end up keeping it, mostly because of everyone's help.
