    Hi Guys,

Hello, I am new here, I have been directed from Omegaforum.net.

My son has decided he wants a Tag Heuer Aquaracer
    WAY201T.BA0927.

Does anyone have any experience with dealers in North West of England?
    Any idea on discount?

Currently the best i have been able to achieve over the phone is 15%.

I know that I will do a bit better in store, but was just wondering if anyone on here had bought Tag & what level discount is achievable.

    Thanks in advance.

Sounds about the right level of discount for a new watch from an AD to me.

I just Purchased one from an AD in the States.
    I got 34.5% off Retail.
$3050 US retail I got it for $2100 US.

Cost me $200 to ship it to Australia though.

    Good luck with the Negotiations.

    Cheers

Might be worth giving the folks at Cheshire Oaks outlet a call to see what they have in stock.

Not strictly true, they do get watches in that have been used for photoshoots sometimes, but it is true that mostly it is 'obsolete' stock.

    THJunkie,

Yeah I understand, I was only paraphrasing what they told me on the phone.

That's a fantastic discount, well done sir! I don't how folks manage it, I am apparently a hopeless negotiator.

this is true - with the exception of the odd item as @Aquagraph mentioned. But - point is that there is very little difference between the old stock and the new stuff - unless you’re venturing into £4.5k plus territory for the new movements. Otherwise the differences between ‘new’ old stock and the latest models is largely cosmetic. So if a discount makes the difference between your sone getting the watch or not (and if it was me), I’d seriously consider it - assuming they have any similar models he’s interested in.
You can get similar discounts from an AD - but anything above circa 20% is much harder unless you (a) have existing purchase history, (b) it is a an item they are desperate to shift or (c) you are buying something else that makes it easier for them to drop margins on a single transaction.

i can also ask my AD what he can do if you like? DM Me the reference number.
Brand new models are generally harder to get discounts on early after release I find.

They'd probably spin you the 'official line' on the phone to be fair... TH Junkie is right though, often there are bargains to be had with minor cosmetic differences. Plus they get things that you would never see in the shops locally, like the 'Patrouille de Glaciers' Limited Edition F1 they had recently. Here's a link to recent arrivals... gives you some idea, usual discount is 30%, but can bu up to 50% sometimes.

    Thanks THJunkie,

Sorry I missed this post. I really appreciate the offer.

Ultimate!y I spoke with a nice lad at boutique who told me that if I went in he would look after us. We ended @ 15% which was enough for my son. Personally I would have walked away, but in the same breath the sales guy did what he said, & 15% was not an insult.

It is so much easier to take the high ground when you are not emotionally invested in the item.

Ultimately my son has bought his first expensive watch that HE loves, & by waiting a week & get to g his old man involved he has saved 15%, going forward he has learned that you can ALWAYS ask for discount.

    Regards
    Jeeper
