@automobilia42 If you can, please try to get pictures of the JH80 variants, especially of the silver dial version if it's there. And if you could, please photograph the new strap options on the Connected. Many thanks!
Good insight. Any other details about the current direction/vision that you can discuss?
First look at the Carrera 43mm Heuer-01 is live
Great review; which one do you prefer the black or the anthracite?
This looks comparatively dull next to skeleton.
Why is the anthracite limited to bracelet only? It would like fine with a rubber strap.
Hint: Carrera Monaco limited edition Calibre 16.
Probably black I think...would LOVE to see a blue dial/ blue bezel!
Have to say this one is growing on me...
That's why they've made both I guess...I prefer this to the Skeleton.
No idea on the strap rationale...obviously the rubber strap will fit.
That is a great picture.
By the way, one of the major changes this year relative to last is the complete lack of ambassador limited editions (Delevigne, Guetta, CR7). These got a fairly hostile reaction last year, so the brand has obviously listened to that feedback.
Actually the Connected watch gives the perfect outlet for Ambassadors to create their own dial, without needing the cost of producing their own watch.
Speaking of Connected, JC Biver said that just before launch he got nervous about the success of the watch and tried to scale back the initial order to 10,000, but "unfortunately" they had already committed to 20,000. Of course, those sold out in a matter of weeks in the four launch markets and now there is no stock anywhere.
The good news for those waiting is that there is now a shipment of 60,000 arriving in mid-April. After that, production will ramp up to 2,000 per week.
Interesting, some of these will be assembled in TAG Heuer HQ Switzerland.
The next Connected series will be launched at Basel 2017
I love the rubber strap. Incredibly comfortable, light, and you can rinse it worry free. So if I got either of these two, I think I would get it with the rubber strap. I just haven't made up my mind on which one.
I also noticed the lack of ambassador editions and concluded it would have been a direct result of their reception last year.
The revamped production figures is certainly proof a successful launch for the Connected watch. I think we can expect a vast improvement in case quality on the 2017 generation. Somewhere this week I read that there would no longer be exclusivity with Intel.
David thank you very much for all the great coverage and safe travels on your way home!
I'll help you decide: anthracite with the rubber strap.
It's not yet available in the Middle East; of all the countries I live / work in / visit, that is KSA, Dubai, and Beirut, no store has it yet.
So I found the answer for the Connected"
Thanks; that's where I'm leaning as well.
Anyone know price point of the last picture with the anthracite dial?
Has not been announced, but it will probably be around 5.5K US DLLs.
