Sorry but still more excited about my rugby season tickets turning up, nice but nothing ground breaking, ambassadors won’t persuade me to buy a watch-or anything actually-maybe they should real people who have opened their wallet and paid to wear the watch.

I think it would have been a bit of a blatant copy of what Rolex has done and attracted a fair amount of criticism. They would possibly have mopped up some sales, though! I do think they could have done a unique colour or two, though. The whole range is pretty bland imo.

Ryan Gosling an odd choice, or more so Ryan Gosling has taken the money. Always known for his smaller vintage watch wearing - Rolex 34m, JLC 34mm (in the very much LaLa Land & Mad Men vibe) Think also a 'fake' Patek in Drive - but that style is often what he wears.

Tag seems very much the opposite of this, but I get he's part of the Hollywood young crew they have.

Wouldn't have surprised me if they did go with some pastels. Tag have been playing copycat for a while now.

It's not a radial dial (in terms of numeral arrangement), but it's OK to describe it as a radial-pattern dial I think (which is what the article says). Concentric may have been a more appropriate term but I don't find the article confusing.

To be fair, I don't understand the difference either and Google seems to offer contradictory examples... I presume you mean radial is like what we commonly refer to as sunburst and circular is what you commonly see on subdials?

    Hi,

thank you for the review :)

    Question :

in your review, you indicate that the movement for the GMT model is an ETA 2893-2.

But on other reviews read this morning, it's indicated that the movement is a Sellita SW330.

Do you have the correct info please ?

I would agree with these concepts. Although maybe we should simply avoid “sunburst” as a definition (as its more a visual effect than a type of finish) and refer to radial (as in “emerging as rays from a common center”) vs. concentric (?)

A sunburst green really would have been a wonderful way to take on that trend.

The SW330 is a copy of the 2893, so it's essentially academic. But ETA have been restricting movements much more lately, so this is most likely a Sellita base.

The original green Aquaracer is trading at list or over still, they really should be making more of that kind of jewel green dial

Sorry, didn't particularly mean yours, but it's impossible to take good photos in a boutique anyway I find. Those really strong spotlight downlighters make the watches reflect and sparkle a bit too much, and do nothing for the colours like natural daylight would.

P.S. What I actually meant was, David's photos make the watches look nicer, not that they are better photos per se (although they clearly are :p).

Not pistachio? That's more of a pastel shade after all. ::stirthepot::

Well, actually why not. Just because I think it looks awful, there seem to be plenty of (presumably) colourblind YouTubers who think it's the best thing since sliced bread.

Yes I know, I ask the question because the article of Calibre 11 specifies well "ETA" ;)

I find that ETA is often used even when it's a Sellita.

Pretty sure my Squale 1521 contains a Sellita (because all the new ones seem to), but in the description on the website I bought it from, it said ETA. I bet if you challenged on them, they'd just say it was an identical movement.
