While we love the heritage Carrera watches, the reality is that the Carrera range can’t simply be a reproduction of what it was in the past- there has to be a pathway forward for a modern Carrera. Over the last few years, the “Avant Garde” Carrera range has been centred around the Skeleton Heuer 01/ 02 range, but we feel that the new Carrera Sport is better positioned to carry forward the Carrera DNA given its combination of clarity and legibility with an in-house movement and a modern case and dial design. Evolutionary it may be, but the Carrera Sports is a clear step forward.

I like the changes to the case, shorter lugs and different shape, slightly less thick. Still a bit too big for my personal tastes but hoping the September release is a similar but smaller version?

I like what they've done with the design and execution. A few random thoughts:

    - 44mm is not going to work for a lot of people. Let's hope the smaller version is more a daily watch you can wear comfortably and less of a statement piece.
    - Couldn't see a lug to lug size anywhere in the article?
    - Despite the thickness, love the fact that the case is not at all slab sided. The proportions look spot on.
    - I'm not sure the Carrera should have a brushed steel case
    - Liking the dial colours and ceramic bezel. Not sure I'd go for the olive green, but it really does work. If I had to choose, then I'd probably end upp with my default choice - blue. Black is probably the most boring.
    - Pricing is on the high side but not outrageous.

Interesting, looking forward to seeing these in the metal. Green dial with metal bezel is the most interesting one I think. 44mm is too big for me but the upcoming 42mm should work.
I'm on the fence about the new lug design. On some pictures it looks tight, on others the bends and curves seem too much. Carrera lugs are sacred, they should be straight and sharp. I'll hold my judgement until I seem them. The seemingly narrower design and better fit on the wrist are a welcome design update.
Why no quick release straps like on the Autavia?

Harken back to the TH Carrera Heuer01 (non-skeleton dial) but on a different register configuration (Heuer02)
Similar and with a cleaner dial, I like it better this way
