By the way, the Hodinkee article references David's Calibre11 Autavia guide:

A small gripe but, it may have been clearer if the date in the lower dial matched the face main colour, I feel it would have stood out better and been clearer to read? or of course it may have just looked messy with too much contrast.

That would infuriate the no-date movement members.

I think it remains discrete that way.

I've got to be honest on the wrist I liked the date being descrete, and yet it was easy to read.
Like said above by Elbeik it's a good way of making the addition of the date less of an issue for those that would prefer no date.

As I've said before I'd personally have been happy to lose the date and and domed crystal if it would have meant losing 3-4mm off the overall height. Certainly the date did not annoy me on either the standard or JH85 Autavia though from a visual/functional perspective.

This is one gorgeous looking watch. It looks more like the version that I voted for during the Autavia Cup.

That was my choice on the Autavia Cup as well!

Yep me too! I tried no. 1 on (which had the unamended minute counter at the time), but this even beats that! (which is perfectly acceptable to go to Mr Heuer himself!!)

Not sure if anyone has watched the video-some lovely little stories/anecdotes in there.

    Anyone (else) going....? ;-)

Thanks for sharing the link for the livestream. I was looking for that yesterday.

I am still wondering if I should have reserved one of the JH85’s with my choice of which numbered piece I wanted (if available).

With just 1932 being produced it surely will be well sought after in the future.....

Those sales premiums are fairly hefty!

Some very nice watches in that auction. My favourite was the penultimate lot - the Chronomatic Siffert I think, although there were some nice Carreras and GMTs also.
