At least in philosophy!
36mm, Quartz and £1500.
Nice but £1500 for a Quartz?
They obviously have a way to compensate... I found it interesting as well.
They are nice! Omega kept teasing every one on social media about them.
Are all Tags Carreras now?
Another hundred gets an automatic. Would of thought a bigger gap. Mind you, noticed the men's calibre 5 in leather as gone from £1850 to £2000 overnight. So it could be an overall increase in these smaller watches.
Not all of them... Here's the other camouflage Aquaracer.
Was more a rhetorical question - just observing that the Carrera name seems to be on so many different styles now - skeletons, smart watch, 3 handers. And very few watches that stay true to the original concept of simplicity and legibility. Or have the classic case shape and design. Not sure what Carrera means any more.
Of course... I just used your comment as apropos to post the picture. Most of us agree...

That GF derived beads if rice bracelet is just awesome, there's an interview a while back with JCB talking about how TAG Heuer didn't really have any visually recognizable bracelet other than the Link, but that BOR should be available across the Carrera range imo. It was always a beautiful design, they feel and look great on the wrist and it's identifiable from 10 yards away as a TAG Heuer bracelet.
One of these companies is truly paying attention to its hardcore fans, and knows exactly what it is they clamor for.
The other is so desperate for new #fans they have almost no identity across the range.
Basically why I chose Speedmaster FOIS over new Autavia.
So that's the confirmed avant-garde Carrera now, as seen in the form of the 36mm ladies model.
Stepped lugs, wide flat bezel, fat hands and markers.
It's #SpeedyTuesday vs. Monopoly.
You do have me there on the hashtag, but the details of the Speedy Tuesday are all 100% focused on making Speedmaster nerds flip out. Someone at Omega has been listening very closely and reading between the lines. I can't wait to pick mine up this summer.
The Monopoly watch and others have no details, no fun clues for those who appreciate TAG Heuer for its place in horological history - just another shiny trinket for Art Basel enthusiasts. I don't know how many they're going to produce, but I am fairly sure we'll see them at steep discounts in a year or two
But then again, don't you think Omega is also diluting their products by issuing so many limited additions? How many limited edition Speedmasters have they done over say the past two years? Speedy Tuesday, CK 2998, Apollo Silver Snoopy, etc. What's next, Uranus Speedy Wednesday?
Btw, a somewhat serious question for you guys here. Do you think that Rolex and Omega owners are douche bags when it comes to other watch brands? Only asking because it seems to me that everytime I read a watch review somewhere, 99% of the time the one or two person who is knocking it is either an aligned Rolex or Omega owner. I posted this question over on the Omega forum and to no surprise, those guys weren't too please....
