Nice find! A long time since we've had a 3-6-9 Carrera Chronograph...or a quartz one

Yes, this is actually pretty big news. Just a matter of time before we start seeing other variants. And I bet the automatic, in non-skeleton mode will come after the Heuer-02 is released.

Nice dial layout, makes me miss my old blue Formula 1 chronograph. Wonder if we'll ever see the old F1's seconds and minutes on two center hands and tenths of seconds on a subdial, the dual central hands make those really readable compared to most chronographs (early F1s and some mechanicals like the Lemania 5100 excluded).

Any idea on the price point for these new Quartz Carreras?

I'm definitely getting one of these. Availability expected in October for ~$2800.

This watch showed up on the Tag Heuer USA website today for the first time.

I really like the 3-6-9 subdial configuration. However, I don't understand why they are bringing in a quartz watch into the men's Carrera lineup. It would have been better placed in the Formula 1 line, which already has quartz units.

I haven't been following Tag Heuer for that long; when was the last time there was a men's Carrera quartz?

Thanks, I hadn't seen that this one showed up already on the site. I believe this is the first quartz Carrera ever.

We've had a few quartz Heuer Carreras from the 1970s...and the Carrera Calibre S ;)

Thanks David! :) I was misinformed by a TH rep in the US about this.

I don't understand why Tag Heuer would re-introduce a quartz movement into the Carrera line after 40+ years. Quartz will dilute the Carrera name at this point, and I'm sure no current Carrera owner will want anyone to ask "Hey, is that Carrera a quartz or an automatic?"

The logical approach would have been to place it into the Formula 1 line.

Yes, it is quite nice. I am waiting to see the connected watch before I pull the trigger on this one. :)

I'm allergic to quartz. It's preventing me from appreciating this fine watch.
