hi all I'm so taken with the 1153S that I got a few weeks back, that I'm interested in a 1153N that's come up for sale... I know it's had relumed hands, I'm not sure about the chrono hand, there's a scratch/chip in the crystal that's casting a shadow just above the Automatic Chronograph insignia... but otherwise I think it looks OK for a first execution 1153N. The bracelet doesn't have a flip lock either - looks like it should have, but it's missing... Asking price is in the region of €5k which is pretty strong... Do you think that's fair for a watch in that condition? Anything else I should look out for? It seems that 1153Ns are a bit more expensive than 1153Ss given what's been selling recently...
Hi ewand, I love the 1153N and the above example is early, all present and correct and very nice overall. I agree about the fliplock but there is nothing else glaringly wrong-bezel, hand style and dial are all consistent with the early serial from the original advert. I agree 5000 is very strong, especially considering the couple of pieces that have come available since.... It's a classic piece though! Steev
Thanks Steve - I decided to take the plunge - gulp... Will report back here when it's in hand... cheers Ewan
